“Terrific Rental Property for a Quiet Week in Maine”

First, this property is located in Northeast Harbor, probably the quietest and most picturesque town on Mount Desert Island, ME, very close to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. It's an old school building that has been carefully remodeled into a large summer residence. Everything was done with the best materials and workmanship - really first class. The house will sleep a number of individuals or families. See the Website for details on bedrooms. The kitchen is huge with excellent cooking facilities and a large area for family members to lounge while meals are being prepared. There's also a large table at which we ate all our meals (the dining room is so large, it's almost imposing). There are many more rooms and facilities (billiards, spa, roof top terrace) that make this property unique. The grounds are relatively small, but well kept. The house is a short walk from "downtown" Northeast Harbor (one block long!) with a well-stocked market, a coffee shop, and a number of restaurants. There are numerous hiking trails nearby.

If we returned to the Maine coast for another family get-together, the Old Schoolhouse would be our first choice again. It's priced competitively with other similar large rental properties.

The only negative was that the Internet Wifi hub was in the basement and didn't reach half of the house with useable signal. Most of the time, it was not a serious problem - we just took our iPads into the living room where the best signal was.
