We went to the gardens one afternoon after hiking in the morning. It is so beautiful there and the gardens include names of many of the plants. I came away with plenty of great ideas for my home garden.

We used to live near this place, and it is a brilliant place to take pictures with all the stone work and the garden. It is a hike with a lot of views up the hill, but you can also drive to the top via Thuya Drive down the street from the hike's beginning point.

Beautiful gardens tucked away. They also had hiking trails and some scenic views of Northeast harbor. Donations are asked for instead of admission price.

Visitied Asticou Gardens in the rain & it was still beautiful. The Azalea's were in bloom. This garden is all done by volunteers & there is no admission though there is a locked box that you can leave a donation. It's always beautiful no matter what time of the year we go. There are different "sections" of the garden - we just walked down to the pond where most of the azaleas were since it was raining. If you are going to Acadia, do not miss this garden.

The first time I visited this place, it was a surprise by my husband. We had been on a long hike, and at the end was a door that seemed to be in the middle of the woods. Behind the door was a beautiful garden, with a multitude of different flowers. The garden is meticulously maintained, a treasure to find after a long walk. If you enjoy a bit of peaceful solitude surrounded by beauty, I highly recommend a visit.
