I had seen internet phtographs of this garden and the stone stairway that leads to it. I wanted to try and take that photograph myself. We found the parking lot across the street and set off on foot for the garden.
We found and the stairs and I took my photos. Then, we climed the stairs. Not too bad, but if you have problems with stairs this is not the approach for you. It was a bit of a hike after the stairs, perhaps 1/4 mile and you go past a hotel to find the gardens
The area of the gardens is not very large, but it will take you time to walk about it an apprecitate the beauty of the plants. Flowers, trees, bushes it is a pleasant walk. There were very few visitors present, so it was quiet and I had freedom to set up for photos without concern for others.
Restroom and a small gift shop on the property. Nice change of pace from the sightseeing in Acadia National Park. I do not recall if there was a minimal fee for entrance to the garden.
