“Golf Weekend”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2013

My husband and I stayed here last weekend to play golf in the area including the Sunday River golf club. Wonderful, friendly staff. Eileen checked us in and couldn't have been more hospitable! Very inviting when we drove up and saw the chalet like architecture. Room on front side of hotel had great mountain view with a balcony. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included with our stay which was a delicious buffet with every kind of breakfast food you would want including made to order omelette station. Restaurant has a nice little bar and friendly bartenders that poured great drinks! Hotel is only about 10 minutes from Bethel where we also played golf and went to dinner. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: Ask for room on front side of hotel on 3rd floor (the top floor) with a balcony. Mountain views are...

Not knowing the area we relied on RCI to recommend a place to stay in Maine. What a great recommend, we had a very comfortable one bedroom suite with full service kitchen as well as easy access to hiking trails, golf courses and nearby restaurants. We quickly learned why Maine is called the Pine Tree State, the mountains were solid green as far we could see. Travel was very easy we made it all the way to the seashore with lots of lobster.
I'd

By far the friendliest staff we have ever encountered. They went out of their way to answer questions and do the little extras to exceed our expectations. When they found out it was our anniversary, they even brought a complimentary bottle of champagne to our room!

The hotel was beautiful, the lobby was enormous, and the room very nice. The room was large enough and had its' own deck. The bathroom was a bit small, but very clean. We didn't use the pool, but did visit it. It was clean, spacious, and a wonderful amenity to have in the mountain setting.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the valley, and away from the parking lot for the most privacy (they are the l...

We stayed here for a wedding that took place offsite. We had a 1 bedroom suite with a murphey bed. We loved the configuration of the room and it was very comfortable for our family. The pool was very nice with a few cosmetic issues in the tile. Workout room had everything I needed. We were there at the very start of summer season for just two nights and the hotel was rather quiet. We took a couple nature walks through essentially their overflow parking lots and my kids had a blast finding bugs and frogs. We did not eat in any of the onsite restaurants but the in-room kitchen was sufficient for meals and the grocery store in town was open later than we expected upon our late afternoon arrival. We ate in town a few times and had lovely meals.

Stayed here during the Maine European Motorcycle Enthusiasts rally, July 25-28, 2013. This place really goes out for the customer. The rooms are clean, well appointed. Although there were several events going on with several different groups, the events somehow never seem to get in each other's way.
The Northern Lights Café is open at 7am for Breakfast and is a very relaxing place to congregate in the morning or at lunch.
Although it is well appointed and equipped, it is a 15-20 mile round trip to town if you need anything that is not at the hotel.

Room Tip: There are rooms with kitchenettes, while they are nice, the pull out sleeper sofa and a fold down mu...

Beautiful views, excellent dining, pool, golf and more. We joined friends for a four-day get-together. We ate together in one of the larger suites. Some enjoyed the spa for massages and pedicures. Some drove into scenic Bethel for an art fair and shopping. A variety of local restaurants. One guest went fly fishing and several played golf.

We stayed here with my husbands family, we were brought to the area for a local wedding. We have stayed at other Grand Resorts in the past, this resort was clean but not as updated as others. Still, the hotel was everything we needed for a summer weekend. The room was clean and comfortable, especially the bedding. The pool area was great including the poolside cafe, the food there was excellent. Aside from being in town for a wedding, we had great experiences hiking and spotting some wildlife including bears and moose. The hotel has great 360 degree views. We had a delicious breakfast buffet at their restaurant. I found the Jordan resort to be off the beaten path from the rest of Sunday Rivers hustle and bustle which may be a plus for some and a minus for others.
