We recently had lunch at the Newagen Seaside Inn and enjoyed a wonderful view of Newagen Harbor and the Cuckolds Lighthouse - even through heavy rain! Service was excellent, and the choices on the menu were varied and interesting. I would particularly recommend the fish tacos - two tacos with ample fish and, instead of cabbage slaw, jicama slaw, making it nicely crunchy. Others in the party had lobster rolls and the hummus wrap, both served with home-cut fries (which got a strong endorsement!). The lobster rolls were very generous and were as we like them in Maine, filled with lobster, not with lettuce or other "fillers". The hummus wrap was equally enjoyed, though it was so generous, my wife said that half would have been fine! Having eaten here on multiple occasions, my one "negative" comment is that it can be very loud. A hard floor with minimal sound deadening, coupled with all those wonderful windows which give a fabulous view but which bounce sound back, can make this less that ideal if there are several large, noisy parties.

A very simple lunch on a weekday. We were very happy -- perfect lobster roll and fries, a very lovely salad (grilled chicken a tiny bit dry) and some perfectly delightful desserts.

Service was right on-point, and view and setting cannot be beat.

The dining area in the inn has been re-configured to suit today's more casual dining styles and is quite pleasing. It is a bit too noisy, however as there are lots of hard surfaces, But the food is most pleasing. I enjoyed the Caesar salad followed by the fillet of salmon which was the evening's special entree. it was accompanied by a tomato concasse and some mashed potatoes. Very tasty and perfectly cooked. The dining room was packed before we left and there was also live music in the adjoining room--a draw for some.

We primarily picked this restaurant for a birthday celebration meal for its terrific ocean views (and were certainly not disappointed on that score) but were delighted by our meals and the good service, too. Choices among four of us included seared scallops, fresh halibut, roasted chicken and lamb chops...and all of us went away grinning from ear to ear over how good our dishes were. Beautifully updated dining room, done in a classic Maine style. Good distance between tables for real comfort. Go for the fully enclosed porch seating if you are seeking the great view. Definitely will return. One caution is that the inn is booked almost every weekend with very large wedding parties, so if you want to avoid that whole scene it's best to book a mid-week dinner.

The restaurant and bar in the Newagen Seaside Inn are both not to be missed. The view of Cape Newagen is gorgeous and can be enjoyed from many tables in the dining area. The waitstaff are attentive and see to your every need. The food is in my opinion some of the best in Boothbay Harbor. My favorites were the halibut, scallops, salmon, and the short ribs if you are not a seafood fan. The chocolate torte for dessert was divine. Overall, a winning combination.
