This was my second time at the cottage. It was relaxing and lovely. The cottages are private and tucked away. Just a short walk to a beautiful sandy beach and a 5 minute drive to the point and Pemaquid lighthouse. Lots to see abd do but we chose to just relax in this peaceful setting. A vacation to remember!
We have stayed at the Laughton House two times now and plan to visit every year! The owners are lovely and every detail in the cabins had a personal touch. I can't say enough about the relaxing atmosphere and the location so close to gorgeous views can't be beat!!!
Low Tide Cottage was the perfect place for our family vacation. Not only was the cottage's decor beautiful, the owners were incredibly warm and inviting. This is a place to unplug from the world and reconnect with family. We can't wait to visit again!
We rented the Low Tide Cabin for a week. The owners are great, and they work very hard to make a stay in theirs cabins a great experience. The cabin is furnished in a cozy vintage way, the peninsula area is great for exploring/relaxing/shopping or... you can just walk few minutes (really) to the beach, an historic site or a great restaurant. We had a perfect week in a perfect place! Oh, by the way, I slept like a log the whole week!!!
Enjoyed our stay and the cool ocean breeze. Cabins are on the rustic side, yet clean and cozy. Thats exactly what we wanted to escape to, not a chain hotel! Beautiful area.
Had a great week with Pam and Dave. Needed a quiet, easy stay and got just what we needed. Pretty beach close at hand. Hosts who were attentive and friendly. Chance to eat lots of lobster locally. Saved money by preparing some meals in well equipped kitchen.Would
definitely consider returning.

The Laughton House property is a little microcosm of Maine, the way life should be.
The cottages are like you remembered from the past, but the decor is totally today. We peeked into the other cabins and saw that Pam, with a great design sense, made every room in all three cabins and the cottage warm and colorful, full of nautical decor. Some may find the absence of television in the cabins a negative, but it makes for real peace and quiet, and a great place to read. The cottages are tucked in the woods, so be prepared to walk a short way from your car over uneven ground.
The Pemaquid beach is only steps away, welcoming all, especially families, to its beautiful white powder sands and tree-lined shoreline. And it was great fun walking around the nearby neighborhood with its wonderful seaside architecture and to the nearby fort.
A visit to the Pemaquid peninsula is like stepping back to a quieter time, yet the area around the resort is replete with everything you might need, especially a couple of great restaurants and good grocery store. Only a few minutes drive away is one of Maine’s most scenic lighthouses, more restaurants, art galleries and a ferry to Monhegan Island.
Pam and Dave are kind and gracious hosts and treat you like you are staying in a bed and breakfast. We will return!
