If you want luxury, skip this spot, but if you want a beautiful spot that will nourish your soul with minimal accommodations, this is the place to go. Over the years Leonard Osier built small cabins, four with one bedroom and six with two bedrooms and a Franklin stove. These a lovely, rustic housekeeping cottages. You bring your own supplies, food and linens for the single beds. There are no tubs, but very serviceable small bathrooms with metal showers. Every cabin has a full set of utensils and cutlery. They are provided with two single beds in each bedroom, a single bed in the living room and a couple of comfortable chairs. There is a table and chair set in the kitchen and coffee maker and toaster. (They provide filters for the coffee makers). There is a dock in the harbor with two chairs. You can launch a small kayak or canoe there. There is a small dingy you can take out by arrangement. Otherwise, you are pretty much on your own to explore the Pemaquid Peninsula, including the picturesque lighthouse. There are a few eating options on the peninsula and lots more in Damariscotta and Waldoboro, but nothing real fancy. We always enjoy Shaw's wharf for seafood and lobster. Prices are very reasonable $550 to $750 a week and Belinda Osier is a wonderful hostess. You'll love it as long as you don't expect a resort.
