Augustus Bove House
Ranked #2 of 4 Naples B&B and Inns
Reviewed August 25, 2012

My husband and i were looking for a pet friendly place. We found the Augusta Bove House. It was the best thing that has happen for us in a very long time. Arleen and David make you feel so welcome. they would make breakfast in the morning, and serve. Then they would sit with us and other couple and talk. I felt i was at a family gathering of people i haven't seen in years. every one was so nice. can't wait to go back for another visit. i will miss them until i return,
Evelyn D.

Room Tip: Maybe the inside of the house would be quieter than the street side but i still enjoyed my stay.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage for 2 nights. It was very comfortable with more then enough room for two couples. Everything you could need was available including a coffee pot , coffee and lots of towels. When we went to the main house for breakfast it was like going back in time. China and cloth napkins on the table! It was lovely! Arlene was a gracious hostess and made our breakfast to order. We also enjoyed talking to the waitress although I can't remember her name. Sorry! Home made breads and muffins were delicious. We did not get to meet David but Arlene was great. We loved looking at her quilts in the gift shop. The House was very well located. Would definitely recommend and would love to go back!

I've been staying at the Augustus Bove House for over 15 years. Great place to stay while going to the Fryebury Fair. Arlene and David (the owners) are friendly and great hosts. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast dining room is something to see... beautiful tables are set for a filling breakfast including homebaked breads. If you're looking for a motel setting, this isn't it. This is a home and well worth the stay.

I highly recommend staying at the Augustus Bove House. We stayed there for the first time last week. Cannot say enough about the inn or the innkeepers!!!! The hostess, Arlene, went out of her way to make all of her guests welcomed and comfortable. She does all the cooking herself. I could not believe it when she asked how we wanted our eggs cooked for breakfast. She had a very large group staying that night yet she still had time for each and everyone. I came away feeling as if I just stayed at a very good friend's house. Looking forward to staying there again when we go up after Christmas. Thank you Arlene for all you did!

If you are looking for the Hampton Inn or Holiday in then this is not the place. But if you are looking for a charming quaint beautiful B&B from an era long gone then this is the place. The Inn is a couple of hundred years old but very well maintained. The dining room and living room are beautiful. Arlene is lovely and very accomodating. She got up a couple of hours early to make breakfast for a large group of us that were leaving before her normal breakfast hours. The breakfast is made to order and was a perfect send off.

The Augustus Bove house is a throw back to the B&B's of the past. It is quaint and sweet and the owner, Arlene, couldn't be kinder. She's a wonderful woman with a terrific sense of humor with stories that will keep you smiling throughout your stay. The breakfasts are terrific, the location ideal. Our only complaint is with the bathrooms -- the need to be updated. The showers have very little, if any, water pressure. But that's our only complaint. Many of the rooms face the lake, which is a wonderful way to wake up in the morning. We will continue to return to the Augustus Bove House annually!

I gave it a "very good" instead of an "excellent" due to the fact that they don't have wifi. Our room was clean the bed was comfy and the bathroom was roomy. We didn't have a balcony but it looked out to trees. The great thing about it was that you had so many things within walking distance. The best thing by far is the full breakfast. The people were nice and very accommodating. My husband and I had the Green Room, we were lucky to get that room everyone else was booked,
I would highly recommend this B & B.
