As soon as we arrived at the cottage, we were pleasantly surprised by the view and the surrounding property. There was an empty lot next to the cottage and there were no neighboring houses or people in sight making this a very private location. The lupines were in full bloom and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful and peaceful spot! The house was just the right size, although the bathroom was quite small with the toilet and sink being very low and the shower very small. It was very bright with lots of windows and you could see the sunrise right from the bed (I took a picture of the pink sky at 3:44 AM!) There was brand new living room furniture, outdoor furniture and a brand new Weber grill on a massive deck that overlooked Somes Sound and mountains. There were plenty of dishes, cookware and utensils, although the unit was missing a toaster which I think should have been a standard appliance. The cottage was well stocked with linens and paper products. The location was centralized and easy to get to all of the must see places. Since it was still early in the season, we aren't sure how busy or noisy Somes Sound gets in mid summer but it was extremely quiet during our stay.
