We stayed at the JSHH for one night at the end of June. The location was perfect - just steps from the dock, centrally located, with beautiful views of the island and the ocean. Susan was a lovely hostess and prepared a freshly cooked, still-warm out of the oven breakfast for us at the time of our choice on Sunday morning. Apple crisp (my personal favorite and the best I've had after my grandmother's apple crisp!), blueberry muffins, OJ, and coffee. On Sunday morning we checked out at 10 am, left our bags with Susan, and set out to do some hiking before our return ferry ride at 3 pm. Sadly, we got hit with a rainstorm and were forced to seek shelter in Carina's, one of the cafe shops on the island. As luck would have it, Susan came into the shop, took pity on us, and invited us to come back to the JSHH and hang out in the upstairs sitting room until our ferry ride, even though we'd already checked out. She even prepared us tea!
For the price, location, charm and great service of the JSHH, this place can't be beat!
