We were glad to have our private cabin with good hot water and comfortable beds. The cabins are rustic but clean & suitable. Each afternoon we were greeted with home baked muffins/cookies by the owners. Nice yard to play in and the cabins are spaced for privacy.

Room Tip: Ask for bed sizes/availability.

The cabins are as small as possible, but very clean and seem to be upgrading over time. There is a nice building that has table games, Nintendo, couches and other activities. The owners are very nice. It is easy to miss the place and hard to find at night.

Went here for softball tournament. Got there after dark. There were no signs showing the location and pitch black. Couldn't see your way to the cabin, would have been nice since there was a large hole in pavement right in front of our cabin #4. Was very basic at best. No towel rack or shelf in bathroom. Did have fridge, microwave and comfy bed. Ceiling was falling in and large cracks in the walls. Your much better off staying at one of the several other hotels in the area. They were actually priced much lower and better rooms.

We are truly sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us - indeed, we wish these complaints had been brought to our attention during your stay so we could have addressed them immediately and/or switched you to a different cabin entirely! We would like to respectfully let you know that several of your items you point out have been fixed/updated - lights have been put up to allow guests to see the grounds/parking lot & cabin numbers more easily - indeed, the town streetlight directly across the road from the cabins which had recently gone out before your visit was replaced too, alone giving much more light to the area. The slightly uneven surface near your cabin step has been filled & smoothed. The loose tile on the ceiling was reattached & the ceiling painted - the crack filled & repainted too. We do appreciate your kind comments on the quality of our beds! Again our sincere apologies about your less than stellar visit to our property, we hope to someday be given another oppertunity to have you stay with us - and if finding a problem please let us know ASAP!

Stayed for a couple of nights while hiking in Baxter S.P. the hosts were very helpful, the site was full, yet, very quiet and peaceful. The cabins are rustic, but everything worked. Warm water, heat, lights, tv, even homemade cookies prepared by the owner and placed in the room during the day! Bed was comfy, I highly recommend.

Although the cabin was very clean and the linens and bed appeared to be very comfortable, the foundation of our cabin was VERY unlevel. Although we had reservations we relocated to another motel as we would have been sleeping with our head downhill. The cabins appear to be mid 1900 vintage (think motor court) and have too much furniture for the tiny, almost claustrophobic space.

We are sincerely sorry you did not find your cabin to your liking - and are glad that with a refund you were able to find other lodging nearby. We do wish to to respectfully point out that your cabin has been completely leveled! We also truly appreciate you taking the time to note that our cabins are exceptionally clean and comfy - and yes, cozy too. We do try and put as many ammenities as possible in the cabins - either a single bed or 2 beds - mini-fridge/microwave - desk & chair or coffee table/chair - dresser & tv with cable. Not what they had in the mid 40's when this was in fact a motor court! Again our sincere apologies, we hope to be given another opportunity to satisfy your lodging needs!

My 12 year old son and I stayed at Katahdin Cabins for three days in early August. The cabins are conveniently located on a quiet street in Millinocket, a few minutes from the main drag and half an hour from the southern entrance of Baxter State Park. Although the grounds of the cabin are inviting - mowed grass, lawn chairs, firepit - the exterior of the cabins all need a coat of paint and new window jams and screens. The interior of the cabins is spotless and basic - ours had two beds, mini fridge, microwave, TV, bathroom with shower, towels. The wifi was good. Very comfortable beds and sheets. Ceiling fan and window fan and the screens were adequate to keep out the mosquitos. We would stay there again.

Price is right, very clean cute cabins. Main kitchen was clean but also acted as a storage for owners stuff. Needed better signage where to check in it was pouring rain and could find where to check in until we asked the house next to it and it turned out that is where you check in. But that is minor. Very close to the mountain, fresh muffins in the morning. Please note this is a review based on August 2011.
