There are many choices of lodging on the downeast coast of Maine, but it is not always easy to sort out the various inns, motels, and B and Bs between Eastport and Bar Harbor. Next time, I will try harder. For $90, we got a $50 motel room. No charm. Clean but 1960s like. The best part was the view of the Machias River from the sliding door, as the tide came in.
We only intended to stay one night as we drove back south and west, so it was not a great loss.
