“Needs a make over”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2012

Been going to this restaurant for a number of years, at least 20 and the inside of it has not changed!! I don't think the walls and pictures on them have been dusted in years, and the rug needs to be pulled up and changed. The finger rolls they give you before the meal are bland and doughy. Have to say the steaks are very good. With the other more updated restaurants in town probably will not go back to this restaurant again.

“A tradition for over 40 years, for a reason!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 6, 2012

The Chuck Wagon has been in Livermore Falls since the late '60's and it's been probably most of that time since I've been there ... but, I figured if they're still in business after all that time, there must be a reason, so I suggested we go there for a quick family dinner the other night ... and we were not disappointed!

It was like stepping back in time to a simpler era of family dining ... the cowboy themed surroundings were quaint, but somehow comforting, and something you don't see much of today. Our server was very polite, friendly, and efficient! The food was very good ... there were quite a few (6 or 7) specials ... and the prices were very reasonable!

I had the steak and fried Maine shrimp combo (with mashed potatoes and green beans), and while it wasn't gourmet fare, it tasted great and the price was right!

If you're in the Livermore Falls area around dinner time, give the Chuck Wagon a try ... it might bring you back to a simpler time! I'm looking forward to going back again myself!

“Eat it there, Pal”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 11, 2012

Every time we have gone to eat at the Chuck Wagon we have been more than pleased. but....Even though it was a busy Saturday night, and a take-out order this time, we still expected the same quality. We were disappointed when the dinner boxes were opened and the chopped chuck steak, (which had been ordered well done, but was rare and very dry) that was to be covered with mushrooms, peppers and onions, had none.
The onion rings have always been great when we were dining in, but were much less than wonderful as a take out.
We will continue to eat-in but never again take-out.
