The rooms are comfortable with the views and having coffee on the porch overlooking the gorgeous yard and Penobscot Bay. The innkeepers are a delightful couple and made our stay so comfortable. I would love to return to stay in one of the other beautifully decorated rooms.

My husband and I went to the Victorian by the Sea for a week in September, 2008. The hosts were very charming and made every effort to see to our needs. We never eat breakfast at home, but the wonderfully prepared breakfasts at this inn had us up and running down the stairs each morning. The inn is clean, quiet, absolutely beautiful, and nicely situated so that you feel you have some privacy. Many of the rooms have fireplaces, adding to the charm at night. We made many day trips to surrounding areas while we were there, never running out of things to do and see. We definitely plan on returning to Victorian by the Sea.

WE stayed here in August of 2007, with the previous owners Ginny and Greg. Nice setting, Peace and quiet, but within easy reach of Camden. Would recommend this Inn highly. It is definitely a place we would return too when staying in Camden.

We returned to this B&B for a second time. We went in July and returned there again August 16-19. Last month the weather was cold and rainy; this month hot and steamy. The innkeepers Jeanne and Robert welcomed us back as if we were old friends. Hugs and handshakes! This trip was no different food-wise: wonderfully prepared breakfasts with either little muffins or other sweet bread, local, organic cheese, fresh fruits, and most often those sweet Maine blueberries! We eagerly awaited each morning wondering what those wonderful smells would be, and we were never disappointed. The house is full of beautiful antiques, the rooms bring you back to a quieter time in life. Set off of the main road, the quiet, cool mornings were made for sitting on the porch with a steaming mug of coffee, watching the boats on the Bay. Jeanne and Robert did not hesitate you make you feel welcome. We would recommend this B&B to anyone!

My husband and I stayed at the Victorian by the Sea for 8 nights, and we loved every single minute of our stay. The very well maintained Inn takes you back in time and most importantly the hosts Jeanne and Rob Short are extremely gracious. For the "introvert" guests, who enjoy their privacy and space, this is the perfect place as Jeanne and Rob leave the original old home to their guests while they live next door. You will feel free to come and go, relax in the sitting room or porch as long as you want, just as if you were home. Furthermore, you will not feel uncomfortable at breakfast as in many B&Bs when the guests feel they have to engage in small talk with strangers sitting at the same table. At the Victorian, you will enjoy a scrumptious breakfast at your own private table! The Victorian is conveniently located between Camden and Lincolnville. We have visited many beautiful B&Bs over the years and we can say without any hesitation that the Victorian is one of our favorite!

This was the perfect place for a reunion of cousins. Jeanne & Robert are very gracious and welcoming. We all were immediately comfortable and were spoiled with the outstanding breakfasts. Plenty of varied activities in the area. Loved early morning coffee & late afternoon wine {BYO wine-they have the glasses} on the veranda overlooking the bay. No air conditioning but this is the Maine Coast and it"s not really needed. The cousins are already discussing a return next year.

My immediate family of six (parents in 50s, 4 girls in 20s) is scattered across the country, and we rarely get together for more than a few days at a time. This year, we chose to spend that time in Camden, Maine - and, based on many recommendations at TripAdvisor, decided to stay at the Victorian by the Sea. What a wonderful place! We were able to stay, together, in the Sawyer Suite (basically the entire top floor). It was spacious enough that we weren't in each other's way, and small enough that we were able to enjoy each other's company without having to traipse back and forth between hotel rooms. The inn is extremely close to downtown Camden, but offers quiet relaxation. The breakfasts were wonderful as well! We plan to return (hopefully sooner rather than later)!
