My only regret is that I didn't stay here longer. Beautiful place to relax and get away from it all. Well manicured grounds, fantastic rooms, and just the right amount of staff involvement in my stay. (Sometimes I find staff to be annoying when they're trying to help me at a hotel, but not here.) Thank you to everyone at Ocean's Edge.

Room Tip: This is a quiet hotel with well sized and decorated rooms. I saw a few as I was there for a wedding and all the rooms looked great.

Dear Barbara,

Thank you for your outstanding review. Our landscaping and Front Desk staff will appreciate your kind words. The staff works incredibly hard to make your stay special and memorable. There is no better compliment than a guest like yourself wanting to extend their stay. We hope that you will have another opportunity to spend your holiday at the Inn.

Have you ever wanted to visit a real life version of a beautifully decorated, meticulously cared for, scenically stimulating photo from a shot from Coastal Living magazine? Well step into this one. In a small town called Lincolnville, an area in North East Maine, on the shores of the West Penobscot Bay, is such an example of perfection. My father in-law surprised us with this mini-vacation after we had attended a wedding just south of this inn. Unaware of what lay ahead, we were not sure how this place would compare to our previous accommodations, which by the way was a very excellent establishment. So we were pleasantly surprised as we turned onto Stonecoast Road, a tree-lined driveway heading toward the gray shake-sided inn. The welcoming staff we met, (Lisa and Mark) greeted us and made our arrival expedient, easy, and comfortable. We were settled into our rooms efficiently (my mother and father-in law and my husband and I ) viewed our accommodations with much satisfaction. The whole Inn has beautifully flowing decor. Both my in-laws room and our own, were identically decorated, rooms "A2 & A3", were spacious, the king sized beds were made with soft cottons and ample pillows. The views were facing the coast and the infinity pool, sauna, and spa area. Each of our rooms had a fireplace, a/c, TV, wifi, mini fridge, ironing board, and iron. Several of the outlets have extra USB inserts on them so you can charge your devices quickly. Our bathrooms both had showers only, but they were lovely, with granite, subway tile, glass shower doors, and chrome, and the tile floors resemble petrified like wood. There isn't a coffee maker in the room, but there is a full coffee bar which was ready by 6:30am, so if you're an early riser, coffee can be yours! The breakfast served here shouldn't be missed. We all had scrumptious breakfasts, standard fare, but delicious none the less! Our first mornings breakfast was lovingly served by Ann, who was friendly and attentive. On our second morning we were served by a sweet woman named Amanda. We had a wonderful time chatting with Lisa at the front desk, she roams the area seeing what she can do to make your stay better, Mark as well was a joy. They are just very nice, relaxed, and welcoming people. The front desk is monitored in the evening by Max, a lovely young man who was enthusiastic and capable. He was able to get transportation for our party to and from Camden for an evening of drinking, dining, and being merry. Max was able to get our cab without a problem, and we were quite pleased with our driver Nate (from Schooner Bay Taxi), who brought us to our restaurant "40 Paper", which is in a restored paper mill... (which I'll review later). There are other things to do aside from relaxing at the pool, spa, and sauna at the inn, there are opportunities to book a tour on schooners, or a day trip (a 6 minute drive) into Camden which is a must. Camden is perfect for scouting for a gift, or learning about the history of the area, or having a meal... speaking of meal, we ate at The Waterfront restaurant in Camden on bay view street (which I'll review later)... or if hiking (Or driving) up the side of an easily accessible mountain is for you, then go to Mt. Battie, it offers you the opportunity to have a birdseye view of the Penobscot coast. There are great trails to hike, or a paved road to drive, there are 2 parking areas located at the top, with 2 restrooms to the right of the first parking area. The tower at Mt. Battie affords you another opportunity to view the area in an unfettered panoramic display. Or you can head into the small town of Lincolnville, and have an amazing meal, at Chez Michel, which I am also writing a review about! Lastly, the cleanliness of the Inn at Oceans Edge is beyond imagination, from the window ledges to the bathroom toilet area, it is spotless. We had the good fortune to have Miley tend to our room. On our last day I had an opportunity to have a conversation with a wonderful woman named Lily. She is a staff member at the Inn at Oceans edge, and I must say she is a compliment to the hotel in every way. She is energetic, hardworking, and extremely intelligent, with a warm and humorous personality. Lastly, what ever you're inclined to do, and if your main goal is relaxation, then the Inn at Oceans Edge should be on your list of places to stay at, with a staff you will love to get to know. Comfort, quiet, coastal, scenic, trendy, sophisticated and tastefully decorated. I would love to come back mid to late October, to sit on a chaise lounge chair near the infinity pool, viewing the foliage on the birch and hardwood trees in their various shades of Autumn hues... maybe I will!

Dear Joie M,

Thank you for taking the time to write such an amazing and extensive review about the Inn. We are thrilled that your surprise mini-vacation with your in-laws exceeded your expectations.

For the Inn to be compared to a photo from “Coastal Living” is so complimentary. Your review beautifully describes the key features of the Inn including the exceptional ocean views, the elegant and serene room decor and wonderful amenities for guests to enjoy.

Thank you for pointing out the convenient location to scenic Camden where guests can experience outdoor adventures and excellent shopping and restaurants.

However, the most flattering comments are about our incredible staff from the housekeepers and breakfast servers to our front desk representatives. We strive to provide excellent guest service, and to make your stay memorable. We thank you for being a special ambassador for our property.

My husband and I came here for a "babymoon" and we were hoping for something relaxing and quiet. We were right - the grounds were beautiful and the infinity pool was fantastic and overlooked the ocean. We stayed in the hilltop building and the room was spacious and calming. Great experience with personalized touches in the main house throughout the day such as freshly baked goods and iced beverages. Daily breakfast was a huge perk, too. Location was perfect if you want to go out to other areas for adventures during the day, but also want to come back to a quiet, relaxing environment. Highly recommend!

We stayed here for our Summer getaway from the heat. Beautiful little Inn, off of the main highway. The driveway is long enough that there is no traffic noise, & then the place is spectacular! We were in the main building, & couldn't have been happier. Spacious room, well decorated, clean, & quiet.
Delicious made to order breakfasts everyday, including Fresh fruits, juices, homemade scones, muffins, & breads. And there are warm cookies placed out in the afternoons for a little treat.
The pool is incredible, & there is a hot spa, a pool house w/ fireplace & comfy seating. We had a marvelous time, & would definitely return.
Location is close to restaurants, & sites that make it just perfect.

The Inn exceeded our expectations - the location is fantastic, with wonderful views of the ocean (if you pick the right rooms), and whilst things are not overly luxurious, everything is clean, works properly and very comfortable.

We highly recommend the pool suite, which offers the best views in my view. There is a slight tradeoff in that it faces the pool, so there may be less privacy at times, but that did not both us much.

The location is excellent, just a short drive to the lovely Camden town, and also other nearby attractions.

Room Tip: The pool suite where we stayed has the best views, our top pick.
