Very good food, a wide menu and friendly service. Moderate prices also make this a go to place for us, when we are in the area.

This is a great spot to stop between Camden and Belfast. Sitting right on Penobscot Bay, the Whale's Tooth serves The best fish and chips in New England. Presented as they should be, wrapped in newsprint, the fish is light and flaky with a crisply coated batter. Chips are tasty and plentiful. The menu is varied and offers a choice for every palate. Save room for desserts. They are delicious. During the warmer months take your drinks outside and enjoy the gorgeous water view. In the winter, sit by the warm fire. Service is pleasant and friendly, never rushed.

$15 for a Greek salad with chicken seems a little high to me. We eat out quite often and a $6 extra charge for a small amount of chicken is foolish.
After we were all done with our meal and leaving our server asked if she offended our table. when we replied no not at all she then informed us that we only tipped her 11% and asked for more. We were caught so off guard that we did not know what to do. We will NEVER eat here again. This is the second time we have had problems with our server and also with the owner.
DO NOT GO HERE!

Checked out happy hour scene which is from 4-6pm. Not a whole lot of choices, 2 beers, a couple of cocktailsmand 3 apps, if I remember right. Got spicy buffalo wings which were decent. All in all, it hit the spot after 2 hours of cross country skiing. But the dozens of prepared salads on a shelf should give one notice on how the food here might be. But one doesn't always need fine dining, and this tavern-like venue in a historic building with a coastal view and friendly barmaids is pleasant enough to while the time away at.
