What a wonderful place to stay! We had been on a road trip for a week and a half and the Mount Batte Motel was one of the very best places that we've stayed in!

The rooms were impecably clean and comfortable. The owners were extremely nice and helpful.
The hospitality was unbeatable.

We loved the breakfast! Hot coffee, juice, home baked pastries and english muffins, to name a few of the delightful offerings that we enjoyed!

We would definitely return to the Mount Batte Motel.

I warn you...this is the worst place to stay in the area. The owners are not only uninviting and unfriendly, they also own one of the worst places to stay in the area. I do not know where to begin. From losing electricity and heat, sleeping in 40 degrees and below, having the situation rectified a day later, and on top of it, told that we need to eat breakfast (which consists of 'cakes' that are inedible) in the rain...yes we were told to eat outside...did I mention they have no tables inside. Please I sincerely suggest you stay elsewhere. They have no hospitality, are mean, and do not know how to run a proper 'Motel' to say the least. My family and I were appalled, and I still, cannot believe they are still in business. Please please please, stay somewhere else.

The room was dingy. The shower was a mist not water and your hair never rinsed properly. We found hairs under the toilet seat and on the bed. The room was dingy and the carpets were old and weather beaten. But the main issue were the owners. Below I will explain what we endured during our stay September 28-30 2012.
We lost power during the night and the husband and wife owner's lacked any compassion or concern for our situation. Maine was cold and freezing and our room fell to below freezing.
We did not sleep and stayed huddled together throughout the night freezing. I finally reached the proprietor at 7 A.M. and he said we were the only ones who lost power and he was looking into it. An hour later I called back and he brusquely informed me to stop calling and he was looking into it. Subsequently I learned there was a power failure affecting a number of rooms on the upper level and he called power companies to come out and he lied to us and he lied to us about the situation.
We were never offered the opportunity to come down to the warm and heated part of the motel to thaw out. We did eventually go down for coffee but were told by the owners wife we could not stay or sit anywhere and needed to go outside to drink our coffee in the pouring rain and the extreme cold temperatures (Maine had severe rain for the entire weekend we were there
for a wedding)or take it back to the freezing room.
I asked the proprietor’s wife what could be done pertaining to our bill she said nothing would be done and there was nowhere to go since many places were closed for the season and the others were totally booked. We will not do anything financially about your situation and then proceeded to raise her hands over head and scream at us “this wedding has been a complete nightmare” and ran out of the office (It was hard to understand how having a full motel during the off season is a complete nightmare).
I would avoid this place since the rooms are below acceptable standards for anyone and the owners are nasty and thoughtless. The breakfast is a joke-tasteless coffee and stale cakes you need to eat elsewhere (you can sit outside in the pouring rain which they offered us) they refuse to let you sit inside, it's a true dump!

While searching for a motel, we passed Mount Battie Inn. We stopped and were surprised to find such a wonderful, friendly place to stay. The owner's did all they could to assure that we had a wonderfull experience. The room was clean and inviting; the morning's home-cooked goodies were wonderfully delicious. It was only a short ride to downtown Camden and even closer to Mount Battie which provided a spectacular view of the area.

I would recommend this motel without reservations to anyone.

I would particularly like to commend the excellent breakfasts, the helpfulness of Ed and Christine and the comfort and cleanliness of the room. The motel is in a lovely location and convenient to the picturesque town of Camden.

the cleanest motel I have stayed in and one of the best breakfasts--the owners were so friendly and helpful about places to visit & eat. Left an anklet in room. Owner caught up with us and returned the anklet. highly recommend this hotel.

We hadn't expected the motel to be so far from Camden, but it wasn't really an issue as I booked on the basis that price rather than location was more important. The motel has curb appeal and looks well maintained. We received a warm welcome and lots and lots of information and brochures (and a hard sell on some activities) so getting to our room took rather longer than expected. However, the information was very useful and helped us decide on what to do with our limited time in the area. The room was spotless, nice smelling, and nicely furnished. Bathroom was fine, though a little more dated. The road is busy during the day, but there was little or no traffic noise at night. A good nights sleep in a comfy bed. Breakfast was good, Christine is an excellent baker, with lots of choice of home baked goods, good job we weren't watching our waist lines. Bikes were hired from one of the companies recommended by Christine and Ed rang and reserved them for us and we received a special rate and other extras. They do go the extra mile and whilst the hard sell of the ethos Mount Battie Inn and their relationships with other companies is a little too much' in your face' for a reserved Brit, they are passionate about their business and want people to enjoy the experience and return. Would we? Yes, if price (and value) was the criteria and not location.
