My wife and I recently spent a 4-day weekend at the Inn at Sunrise Point. We had a wonderful time. The setting is picturesque, the cottages charming and well-appointed and the staff friendly and helpful. We are already thinking about returning next summer, but for a longer stay.

If I could give this place ten stars, I would. We just returned from several wonderful days at the Inn at Sunrise Point. The Inn was taken over this year by a new owner, Daina Hill, who has completely renovated all of the rooms and cottages to the highest standards. The views and location of course are still as spectacular as described in other reviews. But all negative comments made by those who visited in past years have been remedied. Daina and her staff are truly hospitable and guest-oriented. The rooms are beautifully decorated and impeccably clean (and yes there are now wide screen TVs, DVD and CD players in all rooms, as well as a free supply of water and soda in the room refrigerators). Breakfast is a gourmet feast, inclusive of fresh fruit and a full main course. There's lots to do in the Camden area -- hiking, biking, kayaking, sailing. But you'll want to save some time to just sit and relax and take in the view at the Inn, and munch on the fresh baked goodies that are put out every afternoon.

We hate to give up this secret, but the Inn at Sunrise Point was everything we expected and more. The staff was very accomodating (especially Autumn) and the food, ambience, and view were spectacular. We will be back, and will recommend it to friends without any hesitation. Our cottage, the Rachel Carson, was beautiful, clean and very comfortable. One of my favorite things at the Inn was walking on the rocks at low tide, or just sitting on one of the benches on the way down with a glass of champagne.
This is a very special place. Do not miss it.

We just returned from a 4 day stay at the Inn at Sunrise Point. This was an OUTSTANDING experience. It is like living in a postcard. The staff were terrific, warm and extremely helpful. We stayed in a cottage just a few feet from the water and it could not have been nicer. The cottage was brightly appointed with a wood fireplace, flat screen tv, cd/ipod player, king size bed with cozy down comforter (perfect for chilly Maine nights) and a mini-fridge always full of water and soda. The bathroom was luxurious, with its French shampoos and gels, multi-head shower and 2 person jacuzzi tub.

Bright, airy and very, very relaxing. The grounds are stunning, with views that take your breath away, even during rainstorms. The breakfasts were fabulous! Large portions of delicious meals, served with fresh baked goods and fresh fruit that change everyday. Don't forget to come back from your excursions in the afternoon to fresh cookies and coffee. The staff will help with anything you need, from dinner reservations to day trips to helping you start your fire in the fireplace. If you want romance, relaxation or just a terrific trip to the Maine coast, I would recommend the Inn at Sunrise Point. We look forward to returning.

I've just returned from a delightful five night stay at the Inn at Sunrise Point that exceeded my high (and rather discerning) expectations! The Inn is located just a couple of miles outside of Camden and is beautifully situated directly on Penobscot Bay. It's close enough to the center of town that you feel you are close to the action, yet removed enough to allow for peace and serenity.

The main house and a series of charming cottages are spaciously spread out, and a beautiful lawn stretches right down to the Bay. My second story room in the main house had a deck facing the Bay where I spent late afternoons sipping tea and reading, accompanied by the gentle sound of the waves against the shoreline. The cozy library with a working fireplace was my favorite spot for relaxing at night with a glass of wine and an interesting book pulled from the shelves.

The gracious new owner has apparently just remodeled all the guest quarters, so everything was fresh, lovely and decorated in a sophisticated sea-side style. Special touches in the bedroom included fresh flowers, fresh fruit and candies, as well as an exceptionally wide assortment of toiletries not usually offered at such places. Aside from the widescreen tv, dvd player and stereo, there was even an ipod dock!

A full American breakfast was served each morning, including fresh fruit. They have a wonderful cook, so each day brought a delicious new surprise. The apricot and ginger scones one day were followed by Belgian waffles another day, which in turn were followed by a fabulous quiche the next. I probably put on five pounds, but it was worth every calorie! Breakfast was served in a glorious sunroom (Bay views) that I was reluctant to leave in order to start my day of touring nearby sites/towns. (Don't miss the short drive up to Mt. Battie, which offers a panoramic view of charming Camden Harbor!)

All in all, this was perfect way for me to wind down and de-stress from my usual and very demanding schedule. I felt very pampered in a serene setting. I can't wait to return!
