Don't go to McDonald's; don't go to Burger King; don't go to any of the seafood places on Rte. 1. Go to Noel's. Kittery is crazy enough without having to wait in line for twenty or more minutes for lunch. Sandwiches are very good, with excellent bread, and ordinarily come with a pickle and chips. Usually cost ~$8.
Located in the north corner of the Maine Outlet Shopping Center, Noel's is enough out of the way (of the Trading Post and its environs) to offer a nice relatively stress-free lunch. Seating is available both inside and outside.
You order at a counter and wait until your number is called. Service is speedy, and the staff is extremely helpful, friendly, and patient.
I stop here at least once a year on my way to the Sebago Lake region, and I've never been disappointed.
