Description: Established in 1956 on busy Route One long before that stretch became bustling and busy with Kittery's outlet shops, Bob’s was the locals' golden fried standard. Now Bob's is a favorite spot for locals and travelers alike. We hear it from our guests: no trip to Maine is complete without a meal at Bob's Clam Hut.Bob's is committed to serving traditional Maine fried seafood with straightforward simplicity. Our clams are always fresh, which means daily deliveries--we're too small to store more than that anyway. We use "specials," which are clams hand-selected for consistent size and quality. We follow the original Bob's recipes, including the famous tartar sauce. Customer favorites include Bob's New England Clam Chowder, Lobster Stew, the traditional Bob's fried clams, and the Lillian fried clams. The volume of fryolator oil we go through amazes our suppliers--our oil cleanliness standards are second to none. Our staff uses the same cook-to-order system that Bob and his family developed way back when the Clam Hut first opened.Open for lunch and dinner year round from 11:00.

“Fast service. Good food.”
Reviewed July 7, 2014 via mobile

Out local host suggested the place in U.S. 1. They have mainly fried foods. There was a huge crowd, but the staff there had it down to a science. We did not have to wait on our food long. We got fried shrimp, fried Haddock, and grilled chicken. All were good. I had the fish and it tasted fresh. But I thought the batter could have had a little mire flavor. Same for the shrimp.

“So good, you got to try it!”
Reviewed July 7, 2014

Bob's Clam Hut is right on the busy road with outlets shops around it. It is our favorite lunch/dinner stop whenever we shop there. Its called clam hut, but they sell other seafood dishes too. My favorite is fired oysters which I can't find in other seafood restaurants. It operates like a fast food restaurant that you place an order at the front and find your own seating. The staffs are very friendly helping keeping the place clean and ready to answer whatever questions you may have. The outdoor picnic tables are a pleasant for summer and the indoor seating is nice too. They made to orders, so the wait time could be long during lunch/dinner hours. But it's so fresh and good, it worths the wait!

“Our yearly fix”
Reviewed July 7, 2014 via mobile

We have driven up from the Hudson Valley in NY just to have Clam baskets here. Suffice to say I snapped a pic and sent to kids in Wisconsin who replied. "Clams, yum."
Today we brought a fellow foodie who lives in New Orleans , a town that has it's own seafood reputation. Sat outside and enjoyed clam strip baskets all. I've had scallops, belly clams, shrimp in the past. All great. Fast, friendly, efficient. The young lady working outside was delightful. Don't ever close. We love Bobs!

“Just average, but expensive”
Reviewed July 6, 2014

We made our way up to Maine on a quick trek just to get a bite. We chose Bob's as past reviews. We got to Bob's at 8:30PM and missed the big crowds of a July 4th weekend. I ordered the shrimp roll and my son had the lobster roll. He really enjoyed his, but said it wasn't alot of lobster on the roll. I had the shrimp roll which wasn't anything special or something I could make at home. It is much more expensive than we anticipated for what we got...about $45 for both rolls, a drink and fries. Overall...it was OK. We only had to go here once. Next time we would pay that money for a better dinner somewhere else. Felt like they took advantage of tourists by jacking up prices. We would have felt better that the value of the meal was about $25.
