Description: Established in 1956 on busy Route One long before that stretch became bustling and busy with Kittery's outlet shops, Bob’s was the locals' golden fried standard. Now Bob's is a favorite spot for locals and travelers alike. We hear it from our guests: no trip to Maine is complete without a meal at Bob's Clam Hut.Bob's is committed to serving traditional Maine fried seafood with straightforward simplicity. Our clams are always fresh, which means daily deliveries--we're too small to store more than that anyway. We use "specials," which are clams hand-selected for consistent size and quality. We follow the original Bob's recipes, including the famous tartar sauce. Customer favorites include Bob's New England Clam Chowder, Lobster Stew, the traditional Bob's fried clams, and the Lillian fried clams. The volume of fryolator oil we go through amazes our suppliers--our oil cleanliness standards are second to none. Our staff uses the same cook-to-order system that Bob and his family developed way back when the Clam Hut first opened.Open for lunch and dinner year round from 11:00.

“Mmmm, Mmmm Good!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2014 via mobile

We stopped in to Bob's for lunch on our way to visit towns in Maine. We had just spent a couple of days in Boston and ate at a popular seafood restaurant while there. Our lunch at Bob's was much better! I had a cup of lobster stew which could have been a meal in itself - the broth was favourful and chock full of lobster. The clams in the clam roll were lightly breaded and fresh (great tartar sauce, too). My husband enjoyed the clam chowder and had a huge portion of haddock in his fish sandwich. The "eat in" part of Bob's restaurant has a homey New England feel, and there is plenty of outdoor picnic table seating. It is also great to see a restaurant with a recycle program! Kudos to Bob's!
Forget the Outlet Malls, we will be back to Kittery to eat at Bob's!

“Heaping Clam Strips”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2014

Stop here for a heaping pile or clam strips and fries or a cup of lobster stew. Always crowded and very casual - indoor and outdoor dining. Worth the wait if there is one!

“Great tasting clams at a reasonable price. Clean and friendly!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 18, 2014 via mobile

Featured on Diners Drive ins and dives. What more to say. Nice place and great food. Nothing fancy, no gimmicks, you get what you order! Would recommend to anyone who likes fried sea food; clams, oysters, prawns and fish. Very good kids menu. They have burgers and steak options if you are not keen on sea food.

Great food, friendly employees, very clean facility - could not ask for more. Oh yea - business is very environmentally sensitive and that's a good thing. A must visit if anywhere in the area.

“Love Bob's”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2014

We always try to stop at Bob's for at least one meal while we are in Maine. The tarter sauce and the clam strips are some of the best we have ever had. And the staff is always very friendly. Keep up the great job at Bob's!!!!
