“The Bag Burger”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2013 via mobile

This place is a Sugarloaf institution. There is a reason. Good food, great beer and a the flavour of local Maine. Their own micro-brew pale ale is excellent. The Bag Burger was good. The staff are a treat. Very friendly real people.

“Don't Get the Nachos!!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 6, 2013

OK, I should have read the reviews before going in here and ordered a burger, but I didn't!

Stopped in here after a day of skiing for a beer and nachos.
The beer was cold and reasonably priced for a ski resort.
The service was friendly and we had our choice of tables.
The atmosphere is bar like.

The nachos are the reason for two stars. Cheap chips with a layer of squeeze cheese poured over the top, some salsa and sour cream also poured over top with a handful of jalapeños to top it off.

I'd only go back here for beer.

“Best burger”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2013

Best real beef hamburger I have had in years. You can even order it rare. I think they must use sirloin steak and grind it themseves as it does not taste at all like store bought ground meat

“THE place for apres ski food & drink”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 11, 2013

There's nothing better than a Bloody Mary after a day of skiing, and The Bag's are excellent. Rich, spicey - none of that Mr. & Mrs. T's crap that you get in a lot of bars.

The food is also spot on for apres ski: burgers, sandwiches, chili, pizza - not gourmet but thumbs up.

There are better places to go for entertainment (unless you're amused by loud mouthed tourists from away), but this is the place to go to 'lay down a good base' before an evening on the town.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2013

busy place... food is consistent.. good for family dining on the mountain. interior ceilings need some work... some drippage from condensation on pipes...
