“AMAZING ANNIVERSARY GET AWAY - fourth year in a row”
Reviewed May 16, 2011

We had a beautiful 25th anniversary trip planned. We were headed to an amazing resort in Jamaica. Personal issues came up and we had to change our plans to 3 days away - by car.
It was the best thing that could have happened to us. 3 days of heaven. We forgot all of the turmoil in our life back home. Words that come to mind:
-serenity
-get away
-forget everything
-re energize
-re-acquaint

It was just what we needed. We wanted for nothing. Little things like a stocked fridge in the room and a coffee/ tea machine downstairs. We wanted to take in every corner. We enjoyed our room and equally enjoyed the living room with fireplace downstairs.
Coffee in the morning, wine and cheese in the afternoon and another coffee at night in the gardens was the crowning glory.

A few more visits and we will have or stone in "Memory Garden"
We just returned from visit #4

The staff made us feel at home. We just can't say enough great things about the Captain Lord's Mansion

“Boring during the off-season”
Reviewed April 4, 2011

I had never been to Maine. My husband and I booked a stay at a b&b in April because of the great deals and the proximity to Boston. Wow, there is NOTHING to do in K'port in the off season. I am sure that it is 5 star wonderful in the summer (beaches, boats, seafood, etc.). Man, was it a snoozefest in April. Won't be going back, because all I can picture in the summer is the town center engorged with locals and tourists in town for the beach.

“Spacial place for special occasion”
Reviewed March 3, 2011

My husband and I visited the inn just for one evening during the week to celebrate my special birthday as we both had to work. Despite a real time limitation our time there was peaceful and luxurious. The Inn was beautiful, well decorated and the inn keeper was most helpful. We loved our room and it was everything we hoped for. We will surely visit again!

“Our favorite getaway”
Reviewed January 21, 2011

We read about Kennebunkport in our local newspaper four years ago and decided to take a trip for our 1 year wedding anniversary. After looking at many of the inns online, we decided to stay at the Captain Lord Mansion and we could not have been happier with our decision. The rooms look even nicer in person than in the pictures and the attention to detail is very apparent. Everyone at the mansion is always so pleasant and helpful in any way possible, they really make you feel right at home. You can't beat Holly's breakfast every morning in the garden house! In the past 4 years, we have been to the Mansion 4 times and hope to continue our yearly trip up to Maine. It has become such a special place to both of us. When you drive over the bridge into Kennebunkport and then onto to Ocean Ave. up to the mansion, you immediately feel at peace. The atmosphere at the mansion and throughout the town is so laid back and calming, much different from our everyday lives on Long Island. We look forward all year to those few days when we are able to get away to Maine. Everyone should experience a few days in Kennebunkport and especially at the Captain Lord Mansion. We would never stay anywhere else in Maine. Definately not your typical bed and breakfast, The Captain Lord Mansion is one of a kind.

The warm and welcoming staff, attention to design detail, lovely breakfast and unique location make the Captain Lord Mansion a must for a romantic getaway. Be sure to ask about the snow shoeing bridle trail if visiting in the beauty of winter!!
