I stayed with my son and daughter in law for one night at the tail end of Colby College family weekend. It was my first time there. My son and daughter in law had stayed here several weeks earlier and wanted to return. The place has great charm. The grounds are nicely decorated with a fall theme. I had a great corner room on the second floor in the port side building. The room was beautiful and nicely appointed. The view of the grounds and river was beautiful. Breakfast in the morning was wonderful. The selection and quality were excellent. I was impressed with the hospitality shown by all. The shuttle service into town was most welcome and most accommodating. Looking forward to going back.

Room Tip: Room 247 in the portside building. King bed with balcony and great views.

As the proud mother of a Colby grad, I am delighted to hear of your families tradition of visiting the Nonantum after going to visit your Colby student! We are just the ideal distance away from Colby to get a couple hours travel under your belt before enjoying a relaxing evening with a yummy dinner in our 95 Ocean Restaurant!
Our complimentary shuttle service just makes trips downtown a snap! We run you down there and bring you back whenever you call one of our charming drivers! Talk about making vacation easy!
We cannot wait to see you on your next visit to Colby!
Warm Regards,
Jean Ginn Marvin

Found this gem in Kennebunkport when there were no available rooms in Portland over Columbus weekend. So pleased with the staff and the accommodations. The location on the creek is spectacular. The breakfast experience was delightful. And Heckmans Pub was cozy and friendly. So happy we booked there.

Thank you so much for your kind remarks about our staff and accommodations! All of our staff members work super hard to make sure all of our guests feel like royalty. (even at this point in our season when we are tired and short staffed!) The guests who come the first day of our season (in April) get the very same enthusiastic staff that our guests on the very last day of the season (in December)
The team in Heckman's takes excellent care of our visitors with tasty cocktails and a wonderful pub menu served with a smile and some enthusiastic conversation. Often our guests will go in there the first night of their stay because it is convenient and end up coming back each night of their stay. Our talented pianist that you can hear from the lobby help set just the right vibe!
Please come back and see us again soon! (even if they have rooms in Portland!) We are an easy drive away if you want to make us your hub.
Thanks for writing!

We had a great time in Kennebunkport, ME. What an awesome place to visit. The resort was beautiful with great water views to include the amazing changing of the leaves. The resort has a wonderful and friendly staff. Great breakfast Easy walk to downtown but they provide a shuttle if need be.

Room Tip: Our room near the gift shop was little loud but to be expected.

Hello Ronita:
Kennebunkport is such an amazing little town! So much to see and do and just amazing vistas everywhere you look! Plenty of nice people too! One of our guests this year commented to me "Everyone here is just so CHEERFUL!" (and we are - and why wouldn't we be?!)
We have many great restaurants, bars, boutique shops (no chains here!) and art galleries that are easy to walk between (and easy to find) so your vacation is truly a vacation! No stress!
We look forward to you coming to see us again soon! Thanks for writing!

The staff at Nonantum were very helpful with our many questions about the area. The Resort is full of history but is comfortable and even majestic. The room was large and comfortable with everything we needed - only problem was the heavy footsteps on the floor above us. The breakfast buffet was HUGE and delicious with everything available that we could possibly desire. What I enjoyed most was the location and grounds - near an inlet with small boats docked, beautiful flowers, and delightful fall decorations ... it all makes a difference.

Room Tip: Go for the top floor to avoid noise from the floor above. It's an old hotel so noise can be a problem.

Hi Cathy:
I love your parting thought - "it all makes a difference" because I absolutely agree! Every single person who works here plays a key role in every guests stay. If one of us fails to do our job, then no one has done their job. With that thought in mind, we are blessed to have a very deep bench. Nearly every Manager has at least one partner that they can turn to when they need an extra pair of hands. That way when kids soccer games or concerts at school come up, there is someone who can fill in and cover that job seamlessly. When Housekeeping is short staffed, or the Dining Room needs folks to assist, there are a team of folks trained, uniformed and ready to go. It is just the commitment we make to each other.
As for our location, it really cannot be beat. Beautiful gardens, great views and an easy walk to downtown. It just doesn't get any better!
We look forward to your next visit! Thanks for writing!

When we got to our room we realized there was no refrigerator . We called the front desk and they changed our room right away. The room was beautiful with a wonderful view of the water. Breakfast was great. We especially enjoyed our morning walks along the water and into then town. And Mabel’s restaurant is a short walk away. Highly recommend this resort!

Room Tip: View of water and little light house. Landscaping is great.

Thank you so much for your kind recommendation! In addition to our own wonderful restaurants, we are located walking distance to many others. Some folks think we are crazy to constantly recommend others places to eat but we believe that the incoming tide raises all the boats and if our guests realize there are loads of awesome restaurants around here they are much more likely to come back! So far, so good!
Our breakfast is kind of legendary here in town. Lots of locals join us regularly (especially on Sunday when we have a made to order omelet station.)
Please come back and see us again soon! Lots of great deals to be had in November!
All The Best,
