We chose the Nonantum because it looked good online and was cheaper than a motel we'd stayed at before in town. In fact, the resort is an old family resort with a slow elevator (we used it only on arrival) and several carpeted staircases that are quick.
We stayed from a Tuesday to Friday morning before Memorial weekend and found it very quiet and relaxing.
The hotel staff go out of their way to be friendly and conversational. The included breakfast was a treat each morning in the dining room was really great!
There were to be three weddings there on the day we checked out so it's obviously a popular spot. We found it quiet, but don't know if it would remain so when it's crowded because we were aware of people in the next room to us the last night, but they didn't keep us awake at all.
The bill on departure was a pleasant surprise and made us very likely to return.

Room Tip: We chose a river view room and would do so again.

Pre Memorial Day is lovely and quiet here at The Nonantum Resort and I am so glad you had such a wonderful stay! One slight correction to what you said - we had three weddings over Memorial Day Weekend, not all in one day! We only do one wedding a day to insure that our non wedding guests do not feel over run!
Looking forward to seeing you here again soon!

Had a great time despite the stretch of cold rainy days....would love to go back and take advantage of some of the extra activities on site like the bicycles, Rugosa lobster boat, sailing cruise, kayaks, or pool! It really has a lot to offer. Individual Keurig,Cuddledown bedding, water views from large windows and cottage-style decor were highights of the room. Great location for walking to restaurants and shops. Friendly staff & nice breakfast buffet each morning. Feels like a small inn - great attention to detail.

Room Tip: If staying in the original inn, ask for a corner room so you can enjoy the extra windows with great...

We stayed on a 2-night midweek special at this 4-star resort on the Kennebunk River, paying 50% of the standard rate. The employees could not have been friendlier or more helpful, arranging for an early check-in for us and a welcome gift for friends who were checking in after we departed. A hot buffet breakfast was included in the price, and dinner was superb. The dining room is rated Platinum by Boston's TV Diner show, and deserves the rating. Our room in the Portside Building has a window wall with a spectacular view of the mouth of the river and its boat traffic, fishermen, and high tidal rise and fall. It is spacious with a king bed, desk and sitting area in front of the window wall. It has all the modern conveniences (TV, A/C, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and a unique gas-fired cast iron "wood stove" in the corner for chilly nights). The lobby has a fireplace and the public sitting area on each floor has a computer. The grounds are very well landscaped and there is an outside pool with a bar and grill. Activities available include kayak rental, a sailing excursion, charter fishing and a lobster trap excursion.

Room Tip: The rooms in the Portside building are newer than those in the main building. Rooms facing the mout...

The staff of the Nonantum are extremely friendly and helpful. You feel like family from the minute you arrive to the time you leave! Even though the weather was overcast and cold when we went, we still had fun walking around the area and relaxing in the nicely laid out room! A Maine favorite for sure!

Room Tip: Ask for the King room overlooking the river!

Hello Danvers Friend:
It is great to hear from you again! I am so happy to learn your most recent visit was as wonderful as your last one! Spring is such a nice time in Kennebunkport and while it sounds like maybe you didn't get the best weather in the world, you made the best of it! Some of our visitors who are here on a rainy day say they enjoy just relaxing and watching the fog roll in. Very Maine!
We look forward to seeing you here again soon!

My daughter-in-law and I stayed here at the end of April and had a Great time!! The hotel is very clean and the staff was exellent! What fantastic news that you and your daughter had your "best trip ever" during your visit to The Nonantum Resort! The ability to leave here and walk in to town is very attractive to many of our guests (of course many arrive and just never leave because we have everything they need!)
Breakfast is always popular here at The Nonantum! I know when I am on vacation it seems like a great time to splurge and with Barbara the Pastry Chef hard at work in the Nonantum Kitchen, it is an excellent choice! Everyday something worth taking an extra long walk along the water to burn it off is served! Almond Joy Pancakes, Cinnamon Swirls, Blueberry Scones - the list goes on and on!
Please come back and see us again soon! The fall has some great "Value Dates"!
Warm Regards,

This trip was my first time in Kennebunkport and my first time at the Nonantum, as soon as I get then chance I will return to both. Sadly, I only planned 1 night here (that what you get when planning a vacation thru your internet browser), both the hotel and the place deserved a longer stay.

The hotel is a little out of town (a short 10-15 minute walk, so long as it is not raining, this is not a problem). No problems with parking, nice well maintained grounds and very helpful staff, although we didn't use them, seemed to have all needed facilities (including an ATM in the lobby).

The real gem is the room - we did pay for a superior room and it was well worth the price - we were on the 3rd level, with a stunning panoramic view of the ocean (and to the side the river estuary). Plenty of space and our own (gas) fireplace.

Room Tip: We picked "Portside lodge third level king view", which is their room description - it was...
