We've worked our way up and down the coast of Maine looking for the place we wanted to return to and were lucky to find Maine Stay Inn. It's lovely; in a lovely old residential area (no commercialism here), yet not far from the wharf, downtown, and restaurants to suit all tastes. The staff is great - and my husband would keep returning for the breakfasts alone! We prefer spring and fall in Maine, rather than the busy summertime, and look forward to our trip next May and our relaxing stay at Maine Stay.

An historic Captain's Mansion dating back to the 1700's with restoration making this a homey setting yet with many updates for the guest's convenience. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. The rooms are moderate in size, roomy baths (with a jacuzzi!) and sitting area. The Inn keepers are very friendly and helpful providing asistance with any of the guest's needs. Afternoon tea with scrumptious cookies is a delight and the full breakfast is a gourmet meal.
All in all a great experience and welcome the day we might return for a longer stay..

We travelled from the UK to tour New England. Our first stop was Boston were we stayed at the Fairmont Hotel. Our next adventure was to travel to Kennebunkport to stay at the Maine Stay Inn. We have never stayed in an Inn/BB before so we didnt really know what to expect. All our worries were over the minute we set foot in the Maine Stay Judi and Walter their daughter Joanna (pronounced Yohanna) and their staff made us so welcome, after checking in to our cottage (No.7) which we were absolutely thrilled with, It was so clean and cosy with coffee maker etc and a lovely bistro table and chairs. The bathroom was large with a jacuzzi and again spotlessly clean, which is so important to us,we had bathrobes and toiletries. After unloading the luggage we went to the Maine house were we were invited to have coffee and home baked cookies in their delightful dining room. The Inn is on a quiet road, so no road noice and is within easy walking distance of Kennebunkport. Nothing was too much trouble for Judi and Walter even booking reservations for dinner and organising a cab to take us to a restaurant. Breakfast is delicious served in the dining room which was a lovely experience meeting lots of lovely people. Alternatively you can have breakfast delivered to your room, we chose not to do this because it was so warm and friendly in the dining room and we swapped stories with other guests. In a nutshell we would highly recommend The Maine Stay Inn, keep up the good work Judi and Walter you deserve much success.

We stayed three days and four nights at the Maine Stay Inn in Kennebunkport, ME. The suite we had was just wonderful. We had a lovely sitting room with a sofa and chairs and a gas fireplace. The ambiance was so calming and relaxing. After a day of sightseeing, it was so relaxing to come back to the Inn to grab a cup of coffee and fresh baked cookies and relax in our sitting room. The bed was comfortable and bedding was up to date. The Inn had the feel of a historic home with modern amenities and is beautifully and warmly decorated. The breakfast was different each day and very good. It was enjoyable to meet people from different corners of the world. The Innkeepers are very professional as well as warm and inviting. Best of all, the Inn was walking distance to downtown Kennebunkport or within short driving distance to restaurants not within walking distance.

We received a lovely welcome and help with our luggage. The whole house is beautiful and the breakfasts were something to look forward to each morning, cooked with great imagination. Nothing was any trouble and we were given advice on restaurants, places to visit and quiet beaches and walks. We loved the whole family who all had a wonderful sense of humour and we would go back for a return visit whenever possible.
