From the moment I inquired about a reservation to our final exit, we couldn't have been more pleased with our stay at the Maine Stay Inn. We split our stay between rooms in the inn and the cottages, and both were outstanding - clean and meticulous details. We preferred the cottage for our family since it was able to accommodate all four of us. The breakfasts were fantastic, and the innkeepers and staff were all helpful in providing us with restaurant recommendations, excursion ideas, and we really appreciated having access to beach towels, chairs and umbrellas for our trip to the beach. We also really enjoyed the ability to lounge on the property during our down time. Great place that we would love to visit again!

What really makes this B&B special is the cottages. We stayed one night in a room in the main building and two nights in a cottage. There are several small houses on the property and each contains two cottage rooms. Our cottage room had a full kitchen, fireplace and a king bed. It is the best of both worlds since you get the privacy of a rental and the B&B personal touches all in one. Breakfasts were excellent and you can eat on the porch or you can have a basket delivered to the cottage. Location is a few blocks from the town and a 10 minute bike ride to the beach. K-cup machines are in the dining room and cottages so coffee is always available. Ice tea and cookies in the afternoon. Overall, a very nice B&B.

Room Tip: Stay in the cottages.

My husband and I stayed here for a few nights in the beginning of June. On our arrival we were greeted by staff, offered a refreshment and offered any information we had questions on about the area. What was interesting was that they had a book of menus of the area restaurants that was available. They are walking distance to everything in downtown Kennebunkport, so on the first night arriving, we were able to walk downtown to have dinner and didn't have to worry about driving. The owners are very accommodating and friendly. The room was comfortable, which we had in the main house. Breakfast was a surprise every morning, and all of them were gourmet and delicious and healthy. Not for the traveler who likes the usual eggs and bacon every morning. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

From the moment you enter the driveway to Maine Stay Inn and Cottages, you feel like you are home away from home. We stayed in Cottage #7 which was quiet and cozy. Just enough room for 2. Walter and Judy treated us like we were their only guests even though their 17 rooms/cottages were full to capacity. The breakfasts of baked eggs with ham and a fruit cup one morning, egg quiche with little link sausages and corn muffin the next and still yet poached eggs on french toast with bacon the next and again with a fruit cup. An endless cup of coffee and orange or cranberry juice topped the breakfast. Also each afternoon, tea and homemade cookies in the dining area of the home is available from 3-5. The Inn is a 5 minute walk to the shopping hub of Kennebunkport, so no need to bring the car. Your walk from the Inn to the shops is filled with historical homes and Inns along the way.
The owners go above and beyond the call of duty. We will be staying there again!

We stayed in a cottage during our stay. Don't let the term "cottage" fool you: these are chic rooms with every modern amenity. This was a terrific location - just a few minutes walk into town - with a very friendly staff. They provided great suggestions for our stay, including a route for our self-guided bike tour and a great recommendation for dinner at Stripers. We will definitely go back.
