The Captain Jefferds Inn is a beautifully decorated and inviting choice to stay in this lovely Maine town. Each room has its unique decor and charm, all being cozy and welcoming. Set in lovely gardens, the Inn is a short walk to shops, galleries and restaurants. The public spaces in living room, bright sun room and outdoor patio make you want to "stay home". Fresh cookies and pastries arrive in the late afternoon as you read the menus of local restaurants stored in a bin in the sun room. Tea, coffee, water and juice is always available in the butler's pantry. Our third floor "Florida Room" was cozy and charmingly decorated. We even had a small balcony and water views. The gourmet breakfast was eaten in the pretty dining room with other guests at the large table. Conversation was fun and we all lingered longer than planned. This is a lovely inn -a place to consider home.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us and then taking the time to write such a nice review.
We want you to feel "at home" and to relax as you don't have to do any "chores around the house" so to speak.
The Florida Room is a guest favorite, and as you found out, has the best view in the house as you can see where the Kennebunk River meets the sea.
We're so glad you enjoyed the inn and Kennebunkport, and wish you a pleasant summer!

We stayed at Captain Jefferds Inn the night of June 4th. It was my birthday and hubby knows how much I love Kennebunkport. This was our first time at Captain Jefferds. Our room (the Wyeth) was so elegant and cozy, particularly with a fire going. Despite being June, it was cold and rainy outside, but so comfy indoors!. I was impressed with the decor and the color schemes throughout the inn -- subtle shades of blue and grey blue -- authentic colonial colors that highlighted the 18th/19th Century decor. The sunroom was all white wicker and white/ivory upholstery -- so bright and sunshiny, even on a rainy day. The sunroom is where you can pour yourself a cup of tea or coffee and nibble on yummy pastries and/or chat with innkeepers Sarah and Erik. We also enjoyed the breakfast hour, sharing the three course breakfast in a communal setting, getting to meet other guests. The goodies included an elegantly prepared fruit salad, slices of a buttery ginger loaf and sausage quiche. Our quiche plates were decorated with fresh- from- the- garden pansies-- edible, of course! Needless to say, this inn is truly beautiful, immaculate and elegant.

Thank you for your review of our B&B; we're glad that you enjoyed your special birthday get-a-way!
The sun room is indeed a favorite spot to relax, enjoy a cup of coffee and some snacks and visit with other guests - or with us!
When this beautiful home became an inn in 1980 Warren and Don doubled the size of an existing screened-in porch and converted it to a year round sun room. They often said that their one regret was that they didn't make it bigger! They had great vision as this addition has enhanced the guest experience.

Our recent 3 night stay over Memorial Day weekend at this fantastic B&B in downtown Kennebunkport Maine was just the perfect getaway. The accommodations were wonderful, our room was comfy, quiet and clean. The innkeepers were gracious, helpful and made you feel like you were at home. Sarah can tell you what's going on in town, the good restaurants and stores, just a little bit about everything when she visits at breakfast. The setting, the décor, the common areas, the gardens, all were taken care of so well it really made you feel extremely comfortable. The location just a block up from the hustle and bustle of the village was convenient if you wanted something from in town, but tucked away so there was never a lot of traffic or noise going by. The view from our room was great. It was just a wonderful stay, and we got to me such wonderful people while we were there.

Room Tip: We think the best place to be is on the second floor in the main house. Main floor guest room was ri...

I must admit I became a bit homesick talking to you about Danbury; it's fun to reminisce. Thanks for the memories!
We're glad that you enjoyed your time both at the inn and in Kennebunkport. Living in Maine truly is "...the way life should be..." or better put - just like growing up in CT in the 50's and 60's.
Thank you for staying with us, we do indeed, hope to see you again!

We've stayed at many B&Bs over the years and Captain Jefferds Inn is over the top!

A grand welcome, good coffee, teas and snacks always available and bikes to borrow for a jaunt around Kennebunkport. The room with fireplace was romantic, quiet and well appointed.

Breakfast was wonderful - not just the food but the around the table conversations.

Next time in Kennebunkport, Captain Jefferds Inn is where you will find us.

We're so glad that you liked all of the things that we love about the inn. The coffee is roasted locally, the loose teas are specially blended, the afternoon snacks stay out into the evening and we just added two more bikes to ride around this beautiful coastal village.
As far as breakfast at the common table, its' often the highlight of someones stay!
Thank you for taking the time to comment, and we look forward to your return!
Have a wonderful summer!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay. The room was spacious, beautifully furnished, and clean. Breakfasts were wonderful. Wide assortment of coffees and teas, and some juices available all day, Cheese and crackers, then cookies put out in the a sunny day room in the afternoon. New bicycles available for touring the magnificent homes and vistas. Charming and very quiet town with some very fine restaurants which the B&B staff expertly recommended and booked for us. The Captain Jefferds is just a 2-3 block walk from the center of town and 1 block from the bay.

We're glad to hear that your time both at the inn and in Kennebunkport was an enjoyable experience. You were wise to visit during our "Peaceful" season as the roads are safer on which to ride our bicycles, it is easy to acquire reservations at the restaurants (that are excellent, we're spoiled!) and you can enjoy the quiet charm of the village.
Thank you for taking the time to review our B&B. We do hope that you continue to experience memorable get-a-ways at various B&Bs across our beautiful country!

Once again, we had a fun and relaxing weekend at The Captain Jefferds Inn. Everything about our stay was perfect ... from the absolute spotlessness to the comfort of the bed to the spacious and modern bathroom to the sunny sunroom (where you can sit and enjoy coffee, tea, cider and the best homemade cookies) to the location ... just a short walk to the "downtown" with best collection of shops (clothing, souveniers, collectibles, galleries, and of course restaurants). One of our favorite things about CJI is Steve, who is very friendly and attentive, willing to help you out in any way. We also enjoy sitting in the beautiful dining room and having breakfast with the other guests, some of whom we've come to know from previous stays. It definitely feels like family when you stay at The Captain Jefferds Inn. We have recommended CJI to several friends, and everyone has loved it enough to go back. It's a "sure thing"!

Room Tip: We've stayed in most of the rooms at this point and have never been disappointed.

Yes, Steve is a favorite of many guests. He is, indeed, all about the guest experience and goes out of his way to help you create the "perfect" time away both at the inn and in Kennebunkport.
We were fortunate to "inherit" Steve in addition to Tina, and Katie when we bought the inn 9 years ago. This speaks to their loyalty and desire to create a relaxing get-a-way for our guests.
Thank you so much for your review and for both returning and referring your friends and family.
We look forward to your next visit! Enjoy your busy summer!
