Excellent! Great seafood, great wine selections, great service. A little pricey but we were not disappointed. Creme Brûlée for dessert was also fantastic! We would definitely come back.

We were staying just outside Kennebunkport and were advised to have lunch at Hurricanes. The staff could not have been nicer, they found us a seat straightaway in a restaurant with a view to die for looking straight out onto the river. There was plenty of choice on their menu and we chose the crab cakes which really were excellent , washed down with a very pleasant glass of their house wine. The price was quite reasonable and all in all we were very impressed with Hurricanes, a restaurant I can really recommend.

Enjoyed very good cocktails, but the service was so so. It was obvious that the "regulars" got better service than folks just dropping in. The bartender actually said "hmmmm" when I ordered one of their specialty cocktails. Didn't know what that meant...does it mean "hmmmm, I'd like one of those now." or "hmmm you have no taste."

My wife and I stopped in at Hurricanes after a bit of siteseeing in the area. She had a delicious salad with lobster meat on top and I had a great burger with beef and lobster. The burger was unique and perfect. Pretty setting on the water and a nice waitress. It was busy but we didn't wait long, and it was worth it.

While in K'port, drive out to see St Anne's Church at the Sea. Beautiful old stone church right on the water. Then drive around Ocean Drive to get a good view of the President Bush family compound. If the flag is flying, he is there. Beautiful home in an unbeatable setting. We love Maine!

Our first visit to the area found us studying the posted menus of the many restaurants near the docks. Two items at Hurricane drew us in for a late lunch; the lobster chowder (creamy potato base with chunks of lobster piled high) and the duck pate`. Both were excellent. Before we were seated we were warned that a large gathering of local men were having their annual lunch celebration and that service and the kitchen may be delayed. Our server apologized but we were in no hurry and she was delightful, and they had my favorite beer on tap. The approximately thirty men in the main dining room (we were nearer to the bar) were having a grand time, very noisy. They left before we finished so that we could refrain from yelling across the table.

Like most places in this tourist mecca, their prices are high, but from our experience the food quality and service is very good. Although it is on the water (river) next to the bridge you will be disappointed if you go for the view; others in the town offer better scenery. Parking is a major problem. The PAID lot near town center was full, street parking unavailable, so the FREE lot that we were directed to was about a half mile walk. We were pleased with our choice to visit the area and this restaurant.
