We can't say enough good things about our stay at the Kennebunkport Inn. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and make our stay there more comfortable.
We arrived at 1 p.m. on a Thursday and to our surprise our room was ready. Check-in is at 3 p.m., Check-out is 11 a.m. We had booked the Kennebunkport Festival Package and we were handed printed tickets for two to 5 different events. When we arrived in our room there was the large Sea Bag & a framed Kennebunkport Festival print that was part of that package. The events surpassed our expectations. Plenty of food, drinks & entertainment included with the tickets.
Our Mansion Queen, Room #101 in the main inn was spacious with a nice four-poster bed and 2 comfortable plush chairs with a table, fireplace and flat-screen TV. There is a switch to turn on the fireplace for instant flames. There was 2 small bottles of Poland Spring water on a shelf next to the ice bucket. There are ice & soda machines on the main level. There is a single cup Keurig coffee machine with Kcups in the room. The view from the windows next to the bed looks down on Dock Square with it's many shops, restaurants and art galleries. This is the perfect location if you like to walk everywhere.
The bathroom is a little tight, but there is plenty of counter space, a jacuzzi tub & a double
shower head. There is a little seating area outside room 101 and a desk/chair with a computer.
Besides the Main Inn there are also River House Rooms & Wharfside Rooms. Some rooms are small so check before you book.
There is a complimentary breakfast served buffet-style in the Main Inn. There is scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, cereal, yogurt, fruit, bagels, muffins, pastries, coffee, juice and more.
There is a lovely bar/restaurant on the ground floor with a piano for entertainment. There is a Happy Hour as well.
Parking is included in the price of your room & there is complimentary Wi-Fi & bicycles.
Another popular package is Christmas Prelude. Book well in advance.
The staff gave us a map & directions to the Festival Events and served us coffee and muffins when we got downstairs too late for breakfast. One morning we were even served coffee out on the nice deck in front of the inn.
There is a trolley (reasonably priced) that takes you on a 45 minute tour of the town. They have tickets at the front desk and the trolley stop is nearby.
We especially want to thank Damien for making our stay at the inn special. We enjoyed chatting with him. He was friendly and extremely helpful.
I woud also like to recommend David's KPT Restaurant at The Boathouse Hotel, 21 Ocean Ave for a nice lunch or dinner. Good food, friendly service & nice atmosphere. Seating on the back deck is very popular.
