My boyfriend and I decided to take a romantic trip to Kennebunkport in March. Pretty much the entire town is shut down, which shocked us being from NYC. After much research on restaurants, I chose One Dock for our first night in town.
The food was good. I had the steak frites and my boyfriend had the duck. Both were cooked perfectly, though I highly recommend the steak. For appetizers, we got the crab cakes and the Margherita flatbread. While the flatbread was delicious, it was a bit difficult to eat. Herein lies my question about One Dock: is it Fine Dining or is it a more upscale casual place. The decor and prices made me think fine dining. But the food lacked that finesse. The service was nice, but casual. Overall, this place confused me a bit.
Lastly, during this dead season, there were not many tables filled and you could not say anything without the entire restaurant hearing it (nor could you tune out other tables). Just a note.
