This place was great! My husband and I stayed in one of the brand new bungalows...it was sooo comfortable and well appointed. We had everything we needed and the outdoor shower was a nice touch. The screened in porch was great for enjoying a glass of wine in the evening as well. Breakfast came every morning...it was light...muffins, coffee, juice, and bread with jam, but we supplemented it with some deli meat from a local grocery store. Apparently they had more food at the main lodge, but we never made it there. Everything at this place was very chic and super clean! I highly recommend it for anyone trying to take a peaceful getaway. One great thing they had was that they had drivers that would take you anywhere you wanted in town, etc. and also pick you up. There were beach chairs and food at the beach at their sister hotel too. They seriously think of everything here! I can't wait to return!

My family stayed for three nights in July during a two week trip to Maine and Hidden Pond was the highlight for a variety of reasons. Hidden Pond provided the perfect amount of luxury in a fun and beautiful setting, a difficult blend to achieve, especially for family resort.
The cabins are thoughtfully designed and beautifully decorated. Plus, it is so decadent for a family traveling to have so much space. It was great having a kitchen to make coffee in or broil fish fresh local fish. The huge screened in porch was a great place to dine or watch a lightening storm--there was a large dining table, sitting area and candles to light. Loved the outdoor shower, but will say the bathrooms were not as well done as the rest of the cabin. But, there was the washer and dryer--such a relief after living out of suitcases for a week (plus they even provided a fancy lavender detergent).
The grounds were really beautiful. We really appreciated the adults only pool, as the kiddie area was often inundated with kids. The smores were nice and the surroundings great, but unfortunately tons of screaming unsupervised kids on the night we went. The garden is unbelievably beautiful and well tended. Each day I would harvest fresh herbs for our omlettes, greens for our salads and flowers for the window sill. And right next to it on the lawn there was yoga each morning. What a great way to start the day.
We wanted to do some bike riding but there were not enough bikes, but the resort had ordered a bunch more and they arrived the last day. We road to Cape Porpoise for lunch and to Goose Rocks beach. It is a perfect area for biking.
I did do a massage one day. The hut was cute, but the massage just OK.
We loved the new restaurant Earth--it blew away anything we ate on the trip, including some top restaurants in Portland. It is a very cool building, sort of a modern barn, with a little bit of wine country. We had amazing ahi appetizer and lamb cooked two ways. The service was very good, our waiter was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
Yes, it was the most expensive hotel on our trip, but the experience was fabulous.
Hint--Cape Porpoise Kitchen has great take out food for lunch or dinner (killer cookies too). We combined side dishes from there with fish from Langsford Road Lobster and a salad from the garden and were in heaven.

This is a beautiful and relaxing place to stay. The bungalows were perfect, every detail was thought of when designing the interiors of the bungalow. Breakfast hung on the hook outside the door in the morning, does it get any better than that? Justin and the whole staff at Hidden Pond were very accomodating and helpful. Their sister property on the beach was lovely (The Tides), had the BEST watermelon cosmo there! Our stay was perfect and we will absolutely return!

We spend 3 nights at Hidden Pond Resort & it was very nice the staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating . It was very hot & humid while we were there & we were disappointed @ $1000 a night that there was no air conditioning in the living room/kitchen area . The 2 bedrooms had air but they gave you a box fan for the rest of the house . The breakfast basket was nice but we stayed at the Cabot Cove ( sister property) last year for a lot less & had a much better breakfast basket Each day it would something different ,variety would be nice & the muffins were I believe homemade whatever they were much better . They also gave us fresh fruit cups , yogurt/granola mix etc . At Hidden pond it was the same basket everyday & much less of a quality . We were glad we went & experienced it & enjoyed sitting on the porch but we have no plans to come back we personally feel it’s just to over priced .

I just returned from Hidden Pond after spending 5 days there with my boyfriend. It was out first big trip together and we had an AMAZING time!! He is from Boston and I'm from NYC so we definitely have high expectations with hotels and Hidden Pond met or exceeded every one of them. The bungalows are incredible! We felt like we had our own little house for 5 days. Champagne was waiting for us when we arrived perfectly chilled. Everything was so clean and new and spotless and the little indoor porch definitely got a fair share of use by us - so nice to have indoor outdoor space. We also LOVED the breakfast basket and the milk and juice that were left in the fridge fresh everyday. The pool and the spa also exceeded expectations as did Earth, the restaurant on property - one of the best restaurants I've ever been to and this is coming from a Manhattanite! The GM of the restaurant, Mike, came up to us on our first night - possibly because I'm often mistaken for Rachael Ray OR Bethany Frankel, but anyway - we were just sitting at the bar and he introduced himself and delivered our food. Needless to say we felt very well-taken care of for the duration of our stay by the staff at Earth - we ate there 3 times and one night actually got our pizza to go and just picked it up on our way back to our bungalow. Miles and the rest of the concierge staff on property were extremely welcoming and helpful with any arrangements we wanted to make for day trips. The beach is right down the road and you get a pass to use the Tides private beach which provides chairs, towels and umbrellas. I mean, it really just does not get better than this. I've stayed at Ritz Carlton's that do not compare to this place. If I was going to build a resort and could put anything I want in it - it was come very close to what Hidden Pond has to offer for vacationers. We will most definitely be back and hope to make this a recurring annual trip, we just hope we'll be able to get a spot because this place is going to blow up once the word gets out!! - NYC Laura and Boston Dan

Wife and I had stayed at Hidden Pond in July 2009. This year we returned for a week with our 10 month old daughter, my sister and her friend. At first I had reservations regarding the expansion of the bungalows and the opening of the new restaurant Earth. The team at Hidden Pond had handled the expansion seamlessly. The new bungalows, restaurant and spa are located in another section at the property (about a 5-8 minute walk away, or you can always have one of the staff car to pick you up) and does not impede on the original section where all the "family" cottages are. There is also a new pool in the new section.

Cottages: We stayed at "Silent Pine" and thought it was perfect for us as it was close to the Lodge and pool area. The cottage was immaculate and nicely designed.

Food: Had dinners and brunch at Earth, food was outstanding and on par with the pricing. There is also an option for a private chef, which we opted for an enjoyed. We grilled many a night as well, not too easy to go out to dinner with baby in tow, and there are numerous supermarkets and local seafood purveyors within a short drive.

Spa: Wife and sister had treatments and the feedback was positive.

Grounds: Just as we remembered it, the new section would likely continue to improve visually as the greenery grows in.

Staff and Service: Excellent, among services we utilized: Beach Safari at the Goose Rocks Beach, car ride to run in the annual 4th of July 5K, Parking pass to the beach and trip to watch the fireworks. All our needs were taken care of.

Excursion: Make sure to visit the sister property, The Tides Beach Club at Goose Rocks Beach! We met up at the beach then had a wonderful brunch at the Tides Restaurant facing the sea.

Overall: Great trip, great staff. Thank you Natalie and Justin for making our daughter's first trip to Hidden Pond so memorable!

We went for a weekend away without our kids and now are going back with the kids ... Bungalows for couples only has an adult pool and no kids around... The family cottages were completely seperate and had their own pool.
We dined at earth... The food was good but be warned they were very slow ... We had an 8:30 reservation and were not seated till 9:20 ... Then was told to make all of our selections at once right when we sat down... The food was great but it wasn't our fault we were seated 50 minutes late ... The kitchen closes at 10... I am sure they are still working out the kinks
