“What a splendid Inn on the Kennebunk River”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2013

Absolutely stunning setting and wonderful Inn, from the ever-changing tides..to the ducks there to greet you. Erin and Harriet are gracious charming hosts, that are willing to do anything for you. The breakfasts on the porch in the morning are fantastic. We stayed in the River room which is their smallest room..but still very nice and charming. The bathroom is a bit small, and there is very little closet space, but the wonderful views out the windows and our own little deck to over look the Kennebunk River and to hear the quacks of the ducks at dusk..more than made up for it. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on! The attention to small details, like fresh flowers in our room, chocolate's at turn down service, and wine and cheese at 5:30 in the parlor made this Inn very special. We will for sure be returning!!

Thank you so much for your nice review. I am glad that you enjoyed your visit with us. Sometimes when the ducks are quacking away early in the morning I worry that our guests will be upset. It's nice to hear that you enjoyed hearing them ( at least in the evening!).
We hope we see you again in the future and wish you a wonderful summer. Harriet and all of us at Bufflehead Cove

This is a beautiful setting on the water. Rooms are comfortable and we had a small deck to sit out on and have our coffee in the morning. Owners are very attentive and yet you have plenty of privacy. Breakfast on the covered porch in the morning was such a treat. Breakfast was delicious and plenty to eat. Coffee excellent. Highly recommend staying here.

Room Tip: We chose the Cove Room - very nice with balcony.

Hello, Jerrie's friends? That's an educated guess based on your review of the Hartstone ( one of my favorite places). Thank you for the review. Maybe we will see you sometime on a foodie tour. It was fun having you here. Harriet

Bufflehead Cove Inn is situated in a tranquil and picturesque location, a few minutes drive from Kennebunkport and its amenities. Breakfasts were to die for, and nothing was too much trouble to Erin and Harriet, they even organised an emergency dentist for us! The highlight of the visit was a fishing trip with Erin in his boat.

Room Tip: We really enjoyed the garden room (the decor has been updated since the web photos and is stunning...

We were more than happy that the dentist worked out for you. I can only imagine how uncomfortable you would have been.
Erin says, "Thank you" for the nice complement about his guiding business. He also farms oysters. His a busy lad... running the inn, taking out fishing parties and raising oysters.
We enjoyed meeting you both and are happy that your time here was pleasant. We hope to see you again.
Have a nice summer, Harriet

My wife and I have been coming to Bufflehead Cove Inn for more than ten years usually two to three times a season. We have never been disappointed with our stay. The location and the amenities at the inn as wonderful. Breakfasts on the wide covered porch are a delight. The Kennebunk River provides an ever changing view and Jim's breakfasts are always good and fun. The best part of the inn is the staff. Harriet is a wonderful host and has trained and encouraged her son Erin in that art. It is relaxed and comfortable, appears effortless, while every detail is just perfect. We hate to share the good news because it is getting harder and harder to book a room, but it is just too good an inn to keep secret.

Room Tip: All the rooms view the river except for the Garden Room, but that is not a negative for that room...

We celebrated our 35th anniversary at Bufflehead Cove Inn and it was wonderful. We stayed in the Cove Room which was charming and comfortable. Erin is a wonderful young man and makes you feel so welcome and goes out of his way to make your stay enjoyable, whether it is just chatting or helping with dinner suggestions. Harriet was equally lovely and Jim, although in the background, is a superb breakfast chef. We were able to dine on the porch each morning and socialize with the other guests. We had a wonderful mix of people, making our stay even more pleasant. The wine and cheese get together each afternoon was a nice touch, and all of us lingered quite a long time, once even losing track of time and almost missing dinner reservation. The Inn is nestled in the woods off the beaten tack, yet it is less than 5 minutes to the town.

I would highly recommend Bufflehead Cove to everyone who wants the B&B experience. We would definitely like to return at some point!

Thank you Erin, Harriet and Jim for welcoming us into your home and thank you for the delicious chocolate dipped strawberries you presented to us in honor of our special anniversary.

You are so welcome. Thank you from all of us for the wonderful review. It is always great to hear that our guests have enjoyed their visit. It's also fun when all our guests meet each other and enjoy the company. It can get lively around the wine and cheese table!
Congratulations again on your anniversary and we hope to see you at Bufflehead in the future.

We stayed again (many times before) in June and as usual loved it. It is by far our favorite Bed and Breakfast anywhere. We stayed in the Garden Room this time as my husband has trouble going up and down stairs. It was a wonderful room. Breakfast, as usual, is excellent. Aaron does a great job as innkeeper. He was taught well, by his Mother! We didn't get to see Harriet this time as she was recupperating. It was nice to meet her daughter, who was helping her brother out. Hope all is going well, Harriet. Thanks for a super stay.

Mary Lou and Ebe, I am so sorry I missed you. That was a difficult week for me but I was back at the inn after a week away. I am really fine now. Thank you for the good wishes.
I am glad you enjoyed Shannon. She was really sweet to help out and she enjoyed it and enjoyed our guests. We have the best guests ever! Harriet

We spent our 38th anniversary at the Bufflehead Cove Inn. We chose the Hideaway room and couldn't have been more pleased. The view of the Kennebunk River from the walls of windows was very relaxing. The innkeepers were very helpful and couldn't have made our stay nicer. The breakfast on the porch was delicious and they sent coffee to our private deck every morning, what a great touch. We were also very surprised when we found chocolate covered strawberries in our room on our anniversary. There was wine and cheese in the evening along with chocolates on our bed every night with turn down service. Great place to stay and we will be returning. George and Kathy from Finleyville, Pa.

Room Tip: The hideaway is very private and has the best views of the river.
