The restaurant is big with many tables, right close to it, at the same floor, there's a pub. We had to wait about fifteen minutes due to many porthole and any free table was available. We were in two and we ordered 1Double Haddock Cake, 2Chowder,1Shrimp Dinner, 1Crab and Havarti,1Chocolate Raspberry Terrine,1Creme Caramel,1Diet Coke,1Coke, 1Coffee.We spent $63,84 Tax not included. I really enjoyed the food, the only thing I didn't enjoy at all was the natural water! The taste wasn't good and infact I got a Coke at the last. I enjoyed where the restaurant is located, on a kind of dock close to the water.

We stopped here to sample the "flight" of Shipyard beers. The service was very good. Scenery and view is quite spectacular, even in the off-season. Easy to find location in Kennebunkport lower village along the main road. Attractive interior. The next day we returned for a beer and the nachos appetizer, which wasn't too bad. Nice place to stop and take a break when in the area.

This establishment took its name for a famous ship built on its site. It overlooks the picturesque Kennebunk River. After touring Dock Square, we came in for a quick lunch. Our hostess led us to a table far from any views of the river or of the village center. Our server was fast, efficient, and friendly. We ordered a spicy-hot burger slathered with blue cheese and an even hotter burger with roasted green chili pepper and a fiery-hot relish. Both were grilled rare, as we’d asked, and both came with sides of slaw and fries. We both cooled our palates with an English-style, bitter ale quaintly called Old Thumper. Along with all the other ales on tap, we were told it was handmade in a small brewery just downstairs from where we sat. Just as they should be, our ales came to us cool, but not icy-cold. We liked this local pioneer among Maine’s brewpubs well enough, more for its ale than its burgers. If we’d had a better view, we’d have been pleased as punch with the place.

We chose "Federal Jacks" based upon prior reviews. Seating along the windows provides a lovely view of the harbor. However, both my husband and I were disappointed with the food. The French Onion Soup was very bland and tasted like it was right out of a can. The Mediterranean Steak Salad had big chunks of meat, however, they were not seasoned and one would wonder why the salad was referred to as "Mediterranean". Onions rings, fries, and Reuben were adequate, but not fabulous. And, the prices reflect the view, but do not reflect the quality of the food. My suggestion would be to go here in the Summer, sit out on the porch/deck, have a drink, enjoy the view, but skip the food!

We visit the Kennebunk's annually, and Federal Jack's is a "must-visit" experience every year, often multiple times. The loction, overlooking the Kennebunk River is fun. The food is typical pub-fare but prepared well. The Fish & Chips were particualrly good this time, light and not at all greasy. The mussels steamed in ale are never to be missed. The array of craft beers is always a delight. The ginger and root beers on tap should not be overlooked either.
