“Great atmosphere”
Reviewed July 27, 2014

Very cool fun vibe. Lots of colors great place to go with kids or just with adults for drinks and dinners. Off the main street in kennebunk so it misses a lot of the tourists. Not everyone going to maine wants to eat a lobster roll. I love mexican. I had the tacos which were good. they have parking lot but we were able to park right in front. Nice outdoor seating which is great in summer. It did not feel like a tourist trap like a lot of the places in kennebunk. It seems like a place where the locals go.

“Good food but slow service”
Reviewed July 24, 2014

Been quite a few times and I like the food however the last two times extremely slow.
Slow enough to the point where the waitress is apologizing. I don't think its the staff I think it s the kitchen. Mexican street tacos and chimichanga are delish!!!

“Why such a long wait?”
Reviewed July 19, 2014 via mobile

We stopped by for a drink at the bar and we were ignored by at least 5 servers before someone finally got around to taking our order. It was not busy, maybe four other people at the bar. Probably won't be back

“Great break from king lobster!”
Reviewed July 9, 2014

Ok you're in maine and lobster is usually king on your mind for meals. But how many can one possibly eat in one weeks time? Pedro's to the rescue. Who would have thought that great, authentic and tasty Mexican food can be had in the lobster king's domain?

The decorations outside and inside of Pedro's transports you away from maine. The service is friendly and relaxed. The waiters make pretty good recommendations if you need, and are super friendly. The spices are nicely used here and everything we had was not only delicious, but also well executed. The only thing, unlike all other Mexican restaurants we've ever been to, chips and salsa here isn't complementary. You had to pay a few dollars for chips and salsa, but it was worth ordering because it was delicious. I think they roasted the peppers for the salsa, it had a smoked, nutty taste. Very good though. And the dessert was also very good. Didn't have one bad item here. All was great!!

“Disappointing considering prime location, clientele & being the only Tex-Mex in town”
Reviewed July 7, 2014

My travels and the gorgeous weather took me to beautiful Kennebunk Lower Village. Taking a break from seafood and lulled by the outdoor band duo, I came upon Pedro's. Here's my experience:
* prompt seating, pleasant hostess, fun decor
* hostess served water which was appreciated as it took 15 min for a server to take our drink order and then it took another 15 min to get the drinks as apparently the server has to make their own bar drinks for their own tables. The "bartender" apparently only deals with folks at the bar (seats approx.12). This may be part of the reason service is ridiculously slow? Are the servers even qualified to do that?
* menu so-so, I felt it was over-priced, under-portioned and the "Tex-Mex" offerings were meh. The menu is also printed on dark turquoise blue paper which when attempting to read it requires the use of a flashlight (on-hand and offered by the server) or you need to read it by the "tea light" candle on the table or with your cellphone.
* Don't expect to drink & eat within 45"-1hr (take into account the drink service delivery, see above) as well as the similar pace process for your food order. Despite the snails' pace process, I observed a server take a seat with some friends & chat it up. This didn't go unnoticed by tables near me.
*my "Shrimp Tostada Special" was overly abundant with black beans and meager (5 sm-med) with shrimp. Too much cilantro. Meh.
* The Band was good!!! It looked as though the seating for diners wasn't turning over though as people came in to listen to the band and diners couldn't get a table. Servers and the kitchen must take a "hit" if that's the case. Since you advertise that you "serve" until 9 or 10pm then you should have tables available to diners until then. Band folk need to sit somewhere else.
* Tipping was a conundrum for me as I felt the hostess was the only one who deserved the tip.
***May have the potential to be a top-notch eatery should they address issues (specifically customer service)....which apparently they haven't if you also review them on "Yelp"
