We enjoyed the food at Ryan’s Corner House very much but we’re put off by the extra $2.50 charged for changing from fries to mashed potatoes with the steak. Although the potatoes were good they were not worth an additional charge to be scooped onto a plate. It was a surprise to see this on the bill as we had not been advised by the waiter of a substitution fee; given the prices, I don’t think they should charge to this extra fee.

Ryan's Corner House Pub is a newly opened pub in Kennebunk's lower village. I have had a chance to visit Ryan's twice so far, and am very happy to welcome the new pub in town!

The food I've sampled is quite good. The beef stew is a hearty portion served with some bread. My friend sampled two versions of their sandwiches with ham, and enjoyed both. I tend to rate a place on the quality of their fries (chips) and I thought their fries were very good (photo attached!). The beer is plentiful and cold (along with a full bar), and the atmosphere is most certainly "Irish Pub". It is notable however, that the menu lacks "Fish and Chips" - but there are plenty of other local restaurants for fish.

The place appears small and cramped inside, but there is an upstairs room with additional tables so the place seats many more people than you might expect. Furthermore, it sure looks like they are preparing some nice outdoor seating in front for the summer months.

Overall, I give it a "thumbs up" and offer a welcoming "cheers" to the new Irish pub in town!
