Ruby Slippers Cafe and Bakery feels like home. The service is great, everyone is friendly and accomodating. You feel comfortable making requests. The food is made on site and as much as possible is from local farms. So delicious!! The atmosphere is comfortable. Family owned and operated, you can see, feel and taste the pride. From pastries, pies and breads to hand crafted candy, breackfast, lunch or dinner and ice cream, what more could you ask for....
If you are in Harrison or close enough to get there, you have to stop in to see for yourself.

We have been to Ruby Slippers a number of times and always enjoy their wide variety of seasonal choices that are locally sourced, from their meat, cheese, eggs, all the way to their coffee! I've had Eggs Benedict in many varieties on many occasions and the hollandaise sauce is great. I'm especially excited this time of year because I know it won't be long before their truly stupendous pumpkin whoopie pies make an appearance. They are just right with a spicey, soft cookie and a light cream cheese filling that's not too sugary.........(oops, I just drooled a little).
The view is great, overlooking Crystal Lake with a deck for outside dining.

We just ate at Ruby Slippers for the first time today while we were at the adjacent spa on a day trip to Harrison. We had a delicious lunch while enjoying the lovely lake view and will definitely return. The fabulous soup of the day was curried pumpkin, which was full flavored thanks to the inclusion of sauteed mushrooms and onions.
We ordered 2 very different lunches. First was a tasty veggie sandwich on terrific home-baked gluten-free bread which included wonderful handcut fries. The 2nd was an amazing homestyle chicken broccoli alfredo lasagna. It also came with a nicely done house salad (thankfully no gross iceberg lettuce!) that offered a variety of homemade dressings.
For dessert, it was hard to choose which of the multiple fresh pies and pastries in the glass display case would best top off our meal. While the lemon torte and peach/pear combo pie both looked tantalizing, we ultimately went with the Greek walnut pie and were not disappointed by its baklava-reminiscent flavor.
All I can say is that we definitely would return to this friendly food spot the next time we're in the vicinity. Next time, I'd definitely like to try their brunch or their deck dining on a day of beautiful fall foliage. The staff is very friendly and I have no doubt they'd be quite accommodating of families with children, although there only were adult diners present while we ate. They offer a large breakfast menu until 3pm and lots of sandwich options, so it wouldn't be hard to please a large party with a variety of tastes. They also serve dinner on Friday and Saturday nights and looking over the menu, it seems like they generally have a couple of seafood entrees to offer as well.
Lastly, we greatly appreciated their use of locally sourced products, from fresh-off-the-farm dairly goods to including Maine Root sodas in the beverage selections. Check it out for yourselves and hope you have a great time!

This restaurant is a little out of the way, but if you are anywhere near Naples or Harrison , Me, stop in and visit the sisters who own and run this restaurant. The food is great and the baked goods are to die for. Beer and wine are available and don't miss the great Sunday brunch (make sure you try the quiche)! This is our favorite restaurant in the area.

This was tecommended by someone who has only eaten breakfast here. We went for lunch. Breakfast was available, but we all had lunch. I did not see any uncovered baked goods like a previous reviewer, and I will have to go back before I leave the area to try a muffin or something, as they looked great and I have been told they taste great, too. Sandwichez were very good and the rolls were fresh. I agree that t
he hand cut fries were great. One of our group had garden tomato soup that she said was very tasty and was loaded with vegetables.
