“Always Take our Guests Here”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

This is our favorite lobster shack and whenever we have summer guests (which is quite often) we bring them here. The ride to Harpswell is lovely and it's REAL Maine! My friend said her fried clams were the best she's ever had, and the lobster special can't be beat. My husband raved about his blackened haddock sandwich, too. There was a lovely breeze outside on a very hot Maine day and the view to the water was perfect. Wait staff is always pleasant and helpful.

“Good Casual Dining and Fresh Seafood”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

Good casual dining spot in South Harpswell / Potts Point area. Very fresh seafood and a few options for non-seafood eaters as well, and locally made ice cream for dessert. The prices of some menu items are a bit high but Estes usually runs a very good deal on twin lobsters, which is what many people go for anyway. We live down the street and recommend it for lunch or dinner to visitors, and eat there occasionally ourselves. Fantastic location with outdoor dining area, warmed by open fire pits and perfect views of the famous Harpswell sunsets. A previous reviewer mentioned "paper plates and plastic cutlery" - here on this extremely thin strip land (not much wider than the road itself), fresh water can be hard to come by and running a dishwasher for tableware seven days a week may not be possible due to the location.

“A Cape Codder's favorite , ever!”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

Went for the legendary Mac and cheese- which was better than imagined.... - and stumbled upon the best lobster roll we've ever had. We live on cape cod and travel to maine frequently. Probably had 40 different lobster rolls over the years. Este's lobster roll had no filler, none of that lettuce, tomato crap. No weird spices that don't belong- just a really big roll, drenched in butter, so it tastes like you dipped your lobster in the butter bowl. Outrageous!
And yeah... Get the Mac and cheese. Even if you do the appy size.

You can't get there from here, but it's sooooooo worth the ride.

Great meal! Best & freshest lobster I've ever had. No rubber bands on claws. Haddock Chowder & Mac n Cheese also amazing. Beautiful view & great service. Worth the drive.

“Nice Respite After a Days Drive”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

We stopped here for a respite after a long drive down Harpswell Neck Rd. It was mid afternoon on a week day and we already had lunch but we stopped to get out of the car into the sea breeze and get a snack. The Lobster House was clean and comfortable and the wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had several scoops of ice cream (at $2.50 per scoop) which was reasonable for the location. Together with a couple of diet pepsi's we had a relaxing hour in a comfortable place.
