Had a horrrible experience , the breakfast was nothing to write home about, and the rooms were uncomfortable, would never go back, the owner was grumpy and rude.

We took a little babymoon on the coast of maine. I am extremely pleased with our choice of the harpswell inn. We stayed in the regal "captains quarters." fabulous room, water views, a bed to die for. Loved the inn keepers... from the homemade (nothing i could make at home!) breakfasts, to the restaurant and activity suggestions, to their sweet dogs, to the gratis cookie jar. We had surprisingly warm weather for maine in april and this idyllic setting was just amazing for relaxing and basking in the peace and quiet. We will definitely be returning...next time with a lil baby!

Stayed two nights in this great inn. We were visiting a friend in Brunswick and due to Bowdoin homecoming weekend all the local inns were full. Lucky us that we found this inn only about a 15 minute drive away. Very friendly innkeepers, delicious breakfast and great area to explore. Really incredible views from both the inn and nearby. Great wine shop on the island too. Soooo glad we discovered Harpswell!

Our family stayed in the Moody cottage at the Harpswell Inn and it could not have been a more wonderful experience. The cottage is not modern, but honestly that was a great part of its appeal. A comfortable and cozy step back in time. The beds and linens were both restful. It had great space, a well equipt kitchen, lovely screened porch with postcard view, a piano and games in the den, and Casco Bay off both the front and back porches. And as a bonus, one minute in your flip flops to the freshest Maine lobsters, clams, etc. at Allen's seafood.
Mr. Moseley was a joy to deal with and we would rate him as a number one host and the cottage as a little bit of heaven with the smell of salt air!

My husband and I have been renting a cottege in Harpswell, Maine in late summer for three years now and have fallen in love with the area.

On a bit of a whim, we decided we'd like to see "Maine in the winter" this year, and booked a room for three nights at the Harpswell Inn over President's Day/Valentine's Day weekend. We had never stayed there before, but had received a recommendation from some neighboring vacationers the summer before who had stayed there often.

The Harpswell Inn, once you arrive, is a most unexpected pleasant suprise......the location, overlooking a beautiful (then icey) cove is tranquil and very beautiful.

The suite (in a separate building from the inn) was beautiful, immaculate, large and beautifully appointed.....it was more of an apartment than a room, complete with a full kitchen.

The Harpswell Inn is a lovely and well run B&B.....the purpose of my review though is to give special praise to the innkeepers Ann and Dick who surpassed any of our expectations when we experienced an untimely accident....
....I slipped on the ice in Harpswell (NOT near the inn) and ended up in the emergency room of Mid Coast hospital. A severely fractured ankle required surgery that I opted to have back in New York.

SO, after two lovely nights at the inn, the third and last was an agonizing wait....on pain meds that were not agreeing with me....until we headed home in the morning to face my surgery.

The inn keepers, Ann and Dick could not have been more solicitous or kinder.....stepping in frequently to check on me, bringing my husband a hearty dinner in our room from beef stew to homemade apple pie, supervising our departure with great care.....and even packiing me into the car with two pillows and Dick's discarded walker.

As if that wasn't enough.....about three weeeks later, while I was convalescing at home, post surgery.....they even called me to inquire after me.

While I would have given high marks to the Harpswell Inn under the most normal of circumstances (the accomodations, the great breakfasts and the incredible location), the end result of this most unexpected turn of events compells me to heap enormous praise on the inn keepers, who responded to our emergency with the kindest and most solicitious behavior imaginable.

We WILL be back to the Harpswell Inn (as often as possible).....to return the walker and the pillows, to enjoy the surroundings in Spring thaw or Summer.....and to thank Ann and Dick once again for their extraordinary hospitality and kindness.

The Harpswell Inn will always be a favorite of ours now!
