I have been going to Slates for years and always had good experiences. This past week I went there for a business lunch. The chicken blueberry wrap was supposed to have Havarti cheese, but the waitress never came back to ask how the food was so didn't get the option to tell her. The most embarrassing part was when she assumed it was one check and threw it down & disappeared (again). We asked if we could have seperate checks (initially, two of us were not sure if manager would be buying- and she was not). Server snottily replied "In the future, I suggest saying that at the beginning of the meal"... WTH?! Don't the servers usually ask 'will this be one check??' We were told to go to the front register to get it seperated. The guy was in the process of doing this for us when 'Ms Personality' showed up saying 'I will do this. THEY didn't tell me it was seperate checks!!'. I hope the owners read this and can educate this older server on professional service. She acted like her job was beneath her- maybe she needs a career change... ?
