A truly great place to stay. Aside from its stunning setting, the Lodge itself has an ambience that makes it feel like home and it is beautifully decorated and furnished. I can't do it justice in a few words - if you are planning a trip to this neck of the woods, stay here!

This is a very late post from a very busy person! We stayed at the lodge in the summer and had a wonderful time. Attention to detail is superb and the food was imaginative and delicious.

We stayed in the Trout room which was incredibly well appointed and included some home from home features - very welcome after a day out exploring.

Thank you, Linda and Dennis, your hard work is much appreciated.

The Inn is wonderful! Linda was super friendly and made my stay a joy. Oh! And Chloe the Inn's dog is a sweetheart! The Inn sits high on a hill overlooking the lake and the view of sunsets off the deck is phenomenal. My room was spotless and included a jacuzzi tub and fireplace. They also provide a cooler with ice and bottled water as well as a coffee maker. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The area features many interesting hiking trails (don't miss the B-52 crash site and Moxie falls). Some of the roads to sites are logging roads so the ride can be a bit bumpy. But my Acura sedan handled them just fine. Take the Moose Safari. Even if you don't see a moose, Mark the guide is a knowledgable and entertaining host.

Room Tip: The Trout Room was great! Hand carved 4 poster bed. Jacuzzi. Gas fireplace.

Once again we had a wonderful time. The room was comfortable and beautifully appointed. Dinner was delicious. The grounds are gorgeous (with perfect fall colors). And then, Chloe (the resident french bull dog) was welcoming and gracious. Can't wait to book our next visit.

Room Tip: Each room has something particular and special (although our favorites are the Allagash and Baxter S...

My husband and I spent an entire week at Moosehead Lodge and loved every minute of our time there. Linda and Dennis could not have been more accommodating and helpful in every way possible. They are warm and friendly, yet professional. They are conscientious about each guest's individual needs. We relaxed, explored, and ate the best food ever ( breakfast every day and Friday and Saturday night dinners......so delicious) for seven days. We would highly recommend the lodge to anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing vacation in the most beautiful setting. Our moose tour with Mark was better than we ever imagined. Oh, and that precious lodge dog, Chloe.....well, I tried to talk her into coming back to Texas with me, but she is clearly very loved and cared for right at her home in Maine and told me I would just have to come back and visit her soon!

We celebrated my husband's birthday at the Lodge at Moosehead Lake. We were greeted by Dennis and Linda after a fairly long, rainy drive from Portland. Instantly, we were relaxed and knew we had chosen a great place to spend a couple of nights out of our nine day Maine trip. We took the Moose Tour - Mark is unique and amazing. We ate at the Lodge and the staff baked my husband his favorite cake. Very special! Trout dish was AMAZING! Breakfast was delish! We wish we had stayed longer.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Trout room. The only one without a view and it faces the road. BUT the room is love...

My GF and I recently visited the Moosehead Lake area and stayed at The Lodge at Moosehead Lake for 3 days. We arrived on a Friday afternoon at 3pm and were greeted warmly by innkeeper Linda Bortis and her little dog Chloe. Linda showed us around the Lodge, including the phenomenal view of the lake, and then escorted us to our room, the Moose room on the second floor. This room was fantastic. Perfect view of the lake, decorated very nicely, and appointed with everything you could need. The attention to details, and the efficiency of Linda, her husband Dennis and the staff is beyond belief. We awoke every morning to a card that had the weather for the day, and even the weather back home. We ate dinner in the Lodge, and it was wonderful. The food was great, the timing of the courses impeccable, then when we retired to our room for the evening, our bed was turned down with chocolates on our pillows and soft music playing. We went on a Moose safari one morning, and knowing we wouldn't be there for breakfast, Linda prepared a "Safari Pack" with a bagel, juice and assorted other goodies, and had it waiting for us in our room refrigerator. We did have breakfast two of the mornings we were there, and it was very good both times. Even after we checked out, the phenomenal service continued. As we were checking out Monday morning, we mentioned to Linda that we were going to hike a nearby state park before leaving the area. We had left an item of clothing in our room, and Linda called us before we were gone from the area so we could drop back by to pick it up. We highly recommend The Lodge to everyone, and would not hesitate to stay here again!

Room Tip: Moose Room was awesome with an incredible view of the Lake
