My husband and I stayed here for two nights on our honeymoon excursion in Maine. The innkeepers are so kind, thoughtful and personable. A wonderful breakfast was prepared and served in the sunroom overlooking Moosehead Lake. The view of the lake from the Inn room was breathtaking.

It is difficult to describe what a wonderful experience staying at the Blair Hill Inn was.

We pulled into the driveway and up into the parking lot, turned around to witness a most beautiful sunset. The view from the side lawn was wonderful. The sun behind the mountains turned the sky beautiful shades of pink and orange. The colors reflected off the smooth waters of Moosehead Lake.
We didn’t want to check in until it was over. After all, what could top this? Well, we were wrong.
Every encounter and experience during our two day stay rivaled the gorgeous sunset.
The renovation, done 15 years ago, did not appear to be more than a couple of years old.
The attention to detail and design were right on the mark. All though elegant, it is inviting and comfortable.
The room was outstanding. From the bed you could look out over the lake. From the bathtub you could look out over the lake. The bathroom was so beautiful.
Sitting on the porch with a glass of wine watching the sunset, waiting for dinner. It doesn’t get any better.
The scary part was dinner. It was a five course meal with very few choices. I like large selections.
The result was one of the best dining experiences of my life. Every course was tremendous. Well chosen and impeccably prepared.
After a great night in a wonderful room we went down for breakfast. Surprise, no choice, breakfast is the same for everyone. Well, they pull this off also. The variety of components to the breakfast should satisfy almost anyone. It certainly did for us.
Although we did not have much interaction with the owners, Dan & Ruth, you could tell by the atmosphere and conversation of the repeat customers that this is truly a place of warm and caring people.

We will be back!
Kent & Roberta

I did a great deal of research before deciding upon a place to go for our vacation in Maine. We had been to the coast several times and wanted to venture into the mountain and lake regions. The reviews on Blair Hill Inn was the determining factor for where we headed. Frankly, I didn't care how much there was to do in the area because I planned to enjoy my stay at the B & B. The owners, Ruth and Dan, were delightful. They took great pains to make everything thing there special, from the beautifully, decorated rooms, to the two eating areas looking out over the lake to the sitting areas on the wrap around porch and on the third floor outside sitting area. Now, to the food. The breakfasts were delicious, but oh my, the dinners were to die for. We had a five course gourmet meal beginning with these mouthwatering squash ravioli and scrumptious grilled sea scallops. That was only the appetizers! My husband raved to Dan that it was the best meal he had ever eaten. Thanks, hubby! But, I had to agree that it was a wonderful meal and then we helped each other up the stairs to our room for the night. The views are breathtaking. There's lots of outdoor activities to do in the area but you may just want to stay there the entire time. Without hesitation, this is the best B & B we have stayed in and we have stayed in quite a few. I highly recommend Blair Hill Inn and thank both Dan and Ruth for a fabulous stay.

Room Tip: Make reservations early. Every room is beautiful so you can't go wrong with any of them.

We recently visited the beautiful Blair Hill Inn as part of a celebration for my mothers 84th birthday! From the moment we arrived at the historic Inn, we were greeted with a gracious welcome and charming staff. The inn is absolutely elegant yet warm and cozy. The owners,Dan and Ruth, along with the hospitable and humorous staff worked tirelessly to ensure that their guests receive the best lodging, wonderful cuisine and superlative hospitality. The appointments throughout the rooms and inn were done in a very high end and beautiful finish. The staff was witty, warm and it was obvious that they all shared an enduring passion for their work and the guests needs came first. We had dinner at the inn and were blown away by the preparation, presentation, freshness and abundance of the meal. The setting was also absolutely beautiful, the sunsets from the porch were postcard perfect. The grounds were manicured, yet looked natural and serene.
We were more than pleased and ecstatic to have been able to visit the inn and would not hesitate to recommend it to even the fussiest of traveler. The Blair Hill Inn sets the standard of excellence in our opinion and we look forward to visiting again next year!!
Thank you, Dan, Ruth, Elizabeth, Ashley and Cordelia for making our stay with you the highlight of our trip. Kudos to the chef and kitchen staff for the sublime cuisine and talent.

Room Tip: Although all rooms were lovely, the ones with a view of the lake are stunning.

The Blair Hill Inn is one of the absolute best places we've ever stayed. All the previous reviews (including one from us several years ago) sum up this incredible experience. The Blair Hill experience is one of complete relaxation, in one of the most beautiful settings in the world. Dan and Ruth are extraordinary inn-keepers, providing the highest level of service and care, but in a very relaxed and comfortable approach. We couldn't ask for anything more - other than to be able to visit more often!

Our first trip to Moosehead, and we picked the perfect inn. Dan and Ruth, owners and great hosts, couldn't have been warmer or friendlier. The Inn is in beautiful condition, decorated very tastefully ( not over done), and all seems very personal. Spacious rooms, all you could ask for.
The views of the lake are breath-taking and spectacular. High up on the hil, couldn't be better.
Food is superb. Make sure to have a drink or two with Dan at the bar, and enjoy a gourmet dinner; their chef makes it very special.
Oh, and Dan makes a mean (gourmet) breakfast each morning.

You will spend some $$ here, but it's worth every cent, and you will leave with great memories.
