“Relaxing and Beautiful Place”

My boyfriend and I just returned from a 3 night stay at Wilson Pond Camps and are already planning our trip back next year. Owners Martine and Bob were very friendly and great about answering any questions we had about directions, activities, etc. We kayaked and saw bald eagles, fished right off the dock, played card games, bbq'd and ate smores by the firepit, even took the kayak out at night to look at the stars. We woke up at 5am one morning to go on a Moose Safari, with Martine and Bob's son, Chris, and saw 4 moose! The camp is located close enough to Greenville Center to grab a bite to eat in town, but far enough away to feel like you're away from it all. Don't worry too much about having to drive on gravel roads, just remember to take it slow. We took our itty-bitty Honda Fit on this trip and down 15 miles of gravel roads to do a hike, and lived to tell :).

If peace, serenity and privacy is what you are looking for, than Wilson Pond Camps is the right place for you. Our cabin (Secret Pond Lodge) had a private dock with adirondack chairs that are perfect for drinking your morning coffee, reading a book, or just watching nature at its best. We were able to swim right off the dock, and with the exception of a few people on canoes or kayaks, we felt like the only people in the world. The cabin was spotless, well stocked and very comfortable. Greenville is a perfect location to use as “home base.” We were able to enjoy a hike on Mount Kineo (18 mile drive, 10 minute ferry ride), a hike to Moxie Falls (19 miles – 16 on a dirt road). If you are unfamiliar with dirt roads like we were, don’t be afraid of them - just drive slowly. We also white water rafted, enjoyed a moose safari with Chris and even took it upon ourselves to look for moose at the early hour of 4:45! August isn’t a great month for moose, so hopefully we’ll be able to see some more next time. We traveled with our 5 year old son who was never bored. He went looking for bugs, enjoyed the water and was an excellent hiking companion. Bob and Martine were very gracious hosts. Martine provided us with a folder of information that was very handy! It was full of day hike information, maps, restaurant menus and much, much more. Overall, we had an incredible experience at Wilson Pond Camps and we have a new found love and appreciation for Maine.

If your looking for a location that has beauty, privacy, fishing, swimming, canoeing, hiking, all kinds of wildlife, and more... Wilson Pond Camps is the place to stay! "Top Secret Cabin" was our cabin for the second week in July 2012. I brought my wife and two kids, girls 10 and 12. What a wonderful time we had. We had campfires, barbecues, and saw Bald Eagles just about every day! During one lunch a Bald Eagle and its juvenile flew right over our heads. It was amazing! We were able to swim right off the dock. It was easy to get in and out because of some large rocks underwater near the dock, and the water temperature was just right for cooling off. Had a great time fishing. We caught Trout, White Perch, and Sunnies right off the dock. The kids also liked catching the crawfish that liked to hide in the rocks by the dock. Went Horseback riding one morning. This is located on the way back to town. Did the B-52 crash hike which was very easy and not very long. We canoed all over the lake, did picnics on some island, saw baby Bald Eagles (2) in a nest. Saw King Fisher birds, Woodpeckers, and Loons. At night, on the dock, we could see thousands of stars. Though the pictures of this place are nice, it is so much nicer in person. Bob and Martine are wonderful hosts. They are very warm and friendly. No matter what work they were doing, they always stopped to talk. They made my family feel like they were friends not just guests. Looking forward to our next trip there!

Room Tip: Top Secret has no shower, bring a solar bag. Heat a gallon of water in the cabins tea pot and add i...

Cant say enough great things about Wilson Pond Camps. Beautiful cabins right on the lake make for a great getaway. Bob and Martine are the most caring hosts and make sure that your stay is memorable. Just a short drive outside of town. We will definitely be back soon.

Once again, this summer we spent a week at Wilson Pond Camps. It was and is always great to see Martine and Bob, and to catch up on each other. They are like family to us. It was just the two of us this year as the young ones are growing up. As always, it was a wonderful week. We feel so recharged when we come home from "Our Place". Martine, you know where I mean :). The loons came right up to us and had babies with them. There is nothing like a relaxing evening looking at the stars and listening to the loons.

As we are enjoying this nice weather for November, Wilson Pond is spoken of often. Maybe we should go for a week and enjoy it there while it is still nice.

Well, if we don't make it this fall, we WILL be back again next summer.

If you need to "regroup", go to Wilson Pond Camps, you will return home as a new person. If you go, I'm almost sure you will want to return.......Try it, you will love it!

Wilson Pond Camps offers charming, clean housekeeping cabins in a lovely setting. Martine and Bob are as wonderful as the previous reviewers noted, and do they ever work hard to keep the camps clean, quiet, and running smoothly! Our cabin was not directly on the lake, but we had a separate dock and chairs by the lake to use, and the cabin did have some views of the water, which we hadn't expected but welcomed. Unfortunately, it was too windy during our trip to do any canoeing or kayaking, but both are available for rental. The kitchen was spotless, even the refrigerator and oven, and we enjoyed having a cup of tea out on the screened porch in the morning. We looked in several cabins on our way out, and you can't go wrong with any of them. We hope to return soon!

Beautiful, neat, well-kept camp by the side of Wilson Pond, Greenville, ME. Near Moosehead Lake. Consider this location for a quiet, peaceful, restful get-away. The camp we stayed in, Moosehead Lake Lodge, was attractively finished and well-furnished. The kitchen contained an enormous array of utensils, a feature we usually find lacking in housekeeping cottages. We enjoyed bird-watching, moose safari, and fishing. Saw about a billion stars on clear nights. We plan to return earlier in the year to catch the warbler migration, early wildflowers and more moose and fishing! The hosts, Bob and Martine Young made us immediately feel like family and we wouldn't even think of staying anywhere else when we return.

Room Tip: Most of the cottages have screened in porches, but one doesn't, so if this is important to you...
