My wife and I had an opportunity to revisit maine after a 19 year hiatus. Grey Havens was recommended to us and I am so glad we stayed there! Your first memory will be of the views from the huge wraparound porch. Stunning is an understatement! The decor of the inn as well as the rooms is tastefully done with a summer beach cottage feel. Our Bed was very comfortable and the upper turret room provided addittional views and cool breezes.
The food at Blue was should not missed! Everything was excellent! Waking up to the smell of sizzling smoked maple bacon was the icing on the cake, Yum!

Eve, Dick and Chuck are simply wondeful people who make sure your stay is well taken care of. We are already planning a trip back before the end of the season. Yes, it's Heaven!

We booked this hotel on a website through Trip Advisor (NOT the hotel's website), and it said nothing about not accepting children. I even wrote that we were traveling with a little one in the comments section of the booking website. However, upon arriving, we were informed they didn't allow children under 12. The property is beautiful, they gave us a refund, and she did attempt to call a few other nearby inns (all were full), but that left us without a place to stay for the night on a busy Labor Day weekend. I fully understand the policy and have no issues with it if people are informed, but they really should include that important information on ALL booking websites. I even gave them a chance to make it up by kindly warning them I'd be writing a negative review, but nothing was offered (honestly, even coffee from their on-site restaurant would have done it)...

First, Our apologies for any inconvenience we have caused your family, Our goal is to provide the highest level of service to all of our guests,
There are several reasons for our 12 and over policy; not the least of which is the safety of our guests should an emergency arise. Also, being located on a rocky shore, it is not conducive to young childrens safety. While we know your child is an infant, our guests seek the quiet peacefulness that Grey Havens offers. Children being children don't always understand that desire.
Our website clearly states our policies and we will make certain the sites we take reservations from do as well.
Once again our apologies.

Unexpected cancellation of a reserved event, gave us the opportunity to stay at the inn for a last minute getaway. How lucky we were. From the moment we arrived and set for on the wrap around porch facing the water we knew that we had found the place we were looking for and could unwind and relax. The view from the inn is spectacular. The hosts (Eve, Dick, and Chuck) are welcoming and friendly. The common spaces are large with plenty of seating and the premises, including the rooms, are clean and well furnished. Blue is an excellent restaurant and the chef serves creative and upscale meals. Delicious blueberry pancakes for breakfast. Tables were occupied by inn guests and locals. Five Island Fisher is classical Maine in the rough- terrific food and great views. More isolated than Kennebunkport and that is a good thing. Will strongly consider returning next season!

Room Tip: Would recommend the Sunrise Suite... wall of windows facing the water and a private balcony to sit o...

We spent a lovely August evening at the inn....so great to be able to eat on the wraparound porch. I can't wait to return! The front sitting area was also really lovely, very well-decorated. We stayed in the Oak room, which was small but comfortable, and the bathroom was well-designed for its size. The whole property was very well maintained and very tastefully decorated.
The food was also excellent.

Grey havens is the quintessential Maine vacation spot. Lovely inn keepers, excellent farm-to-table food, and a view to die for. Georgeton lobster is a ten minte drive, yum! See you next summer eve and dick!

The Grey Havens Inn is one of most beautiful and relaxing Inns that we have visited in over twenty years. The front porch invites visitors to sit, relax, have a cup of coffee, or a cocktail, and take in the beautiful view. This morning before we left, we were delighted to see from our room, several seals swimming below. The hosts are friendly, outgoing, and happily accomodate every request. Our room was immaculate and appointed with a simple seaside elegance affording a breathtaking view. The wine list is excellent and the restaurant, Blue, is truly top notch. The sitting room offers multiple areas to relax, read, play chess, or take in the view. The Inn is 10 minutes from Reid State Park and is also close to a wonderful fisherman's wharf (Five Islands Lobster Company) where fresh lobsters, clams and other seafood are offered right off the boats. Unlike some of the more famous Maine seacost towns, the Georgetown Island area is quintessential coastal Maine without being the least bit pretentious or touristy. We can't wait to return!

You work all year long and wait for that moment when you can say, "We've earned this vacation." Well now I can share with you our place to unwind on the coast of Maine. The views are spectacular, the rooms are fantastic, the food at their restaurant Blue is, "OFF THE HOOK". The drinks at the bar served with friendship and laughter. And did I tell you about the Inn keepers, Eve and Dick, have succeeded in making "The Grey Havens Inn" our place to spend our vacation year after year. My only regret, we can't vacation more often.

Room Tip: The Inn faces the ocean, so enjoy the view and book a room with an ocean view.
