Another year at the imaculately maintained Coveside B&B. The rooms are spotless and the grounds are lovingly maintained. You can even pick some of the blueberries that have not found their way into the muffins. Carolyn,a former star pastery chef makes a wonderful breakfast every day including thos muffins and scones along with crabcakes and inventive omlets along with the bacon etc. And the homemade jellies and jams are delicious.
It is the perfect place to sit back and read but don't forget to take a kayak or bycycle to the town dock for lobster and clams.
There are plenty of nearby galleries as well as Ried State Park but a 20 minute drive to Bath and its shops and resturaunts as well as the towns north are certainly worth an excursion. And on a rainy day, Freeport with all its outlets is only a half hour away.
If you are looking foe a 3 or 4 day vacation to rest and relax,Coveside is the perfect place. You will leave stress free and ready to face the real world once again

Room Tip: The two large rooms upstairs in the cottage are the best.

We stayed in Alice's room and it has a wonderful view of the cove. Tom greeted us kindly with awesome chocolate chip cookies. Breakfast was good. Place was updated and clean and beautiful! We enjoyed wine down by the water in the adorandak chairs - and even watched some of the olympics up in the "game room". All areas very clean and the flowers are beautiful!

There are many remarkable elements of a stay at Coveside B&B, and they will all surely reside in your head as happy memories long after your vacation. The following are highlights that my wife and I enjoyed, in no particular order of momentousness: taking the innkeepers’ canoe onto the bay to consort with the wildlife (seagulls, osprey, eagles, and cormorants) and paddle around rocky islands; gourmet breakfasts featuring local, homegrown, and organic food, prepared by Carolyn and served al fresco; mesmerizing views from every room and every bit of the beautiful grounds; enjoying tea and homemade cookies along with innumerable books, magazines, and newspapers on a porch overlooking the water; perfect New England décor and landscaping. The proprietors, Tom and Carolyn, engage in friendly conversation, and their inn abounds with helpful information and insight into the area. They generously provide complimentary beer and soft drinks and have a few bikes available to borrow.

This was our first time in a bed and breakfast. Tom and Carolyn do a fantastic job. The food was good, the scenery spectacular and all of your needs are met. My husband has to be gluten free and Carolyn adapted his breakfast for him. A great place to destress.

Our stay at Coveside was very relaxing and enjoyable. The inn is well maintained and the gardens beautiful. Our room had a sitting area and a private deck which was very comfortable when we returned from exploring the area. The breakfasts were delicious and the conversations with Tom were delightful. It was a very peaceful visit and we are looking forward to returning.

Our 3rd visit to Coveside proved that some things only get better. This is a world class B&B and destination that offers a fully wonderful experience. The cozy rooms are well-appointed and comfortable -- you won't find any dusty teddy bears or frilly curtains. Fabulous, creative breakfasts are prepared by co-innkeeper and experienced chef Carolyn, and served in a cheery setting by her co-innkeeper and husband Tom, an effervescent and congenial host. The beautiful gardens surrounding the inn -- created and tended by this welcoming duo -- are worthy of high praise by anyone who appreciates vibrant color and natural form, including the resident butterflies. Pleasant sitting rooms offer tranquility and peaceful, down-home ambiance. Thoughtful touches are everywhere. Plenty to do around Georgetown and Five Islands, especially if you like lobster (this is "Home of the Big Boys"), museums, beach walks, kayaks, and don't mind driving short distances. The Botanical Gardens at Booth Bay are within an hour's drive and worth every minute. All in all, we don't think there's a better B&B destination in Maine and if there were a 5-star rating, Coveside deserves it.
