The Old Saco Inn is just perfect! We decided to stay there last minute after visiting the excellent Ebenezer's Pub in Lovell. We were simply driving by on Route 5 where we saw the cute sign for the Old Saco Inn. Sandy and Pete (the Innkeepers) were so kind and welcoming. They felt like old friends. The Inn and grounds are incredible. There are 2 buildings-- the Carriage House and the main House, both with incredible, clean and comfortable decor. There is the most intimate and friendly pub inside, where Sandy and Pete bartend. Besides the great room and pub, they are right on the river and have Kayaks and Canoes for use free of charge. Please stay here-- you will not be disappointed!

A serene setting on the Saco River. Beautiful flowers hanging and in pots, inviting rustic decor, intimate pub . Spacious, wonderfully decorated rooms. Gracious hospitality and an amazing breakfast! A great place for a weekend getaway , an extended vacation or function. Canoes available for a trip down the Saco.

It was wonderful to be greeted by the owner the minute I pulled into the driveway. It was like arriving at the home of relatives who were anxious and happy to see me! My room was spacious and exceptionally clean and fresh. The bed and bedding was beyond comfortable. I only had breakfast at the Inn but wow, what a wonderfully delicious breakfast it was (and so beautiful I actually took a picture of it). The owners, Sandy and Pete, were gracious and very accomodating. Definitely a relaxing retreat from the hussle and bussle of city life. I would highly recommend.

Our weekend visit in February 2013 was such a delight we of course returned recently with family just for fun in the pub & to enjoy another delicious dinner! Peter & Sandy are so very hospitable & accommodating. We look forward to sharing the charm of the Old Saco Inn with many family & friends who visit the area in the future.

Room Tip: We loved the Mt Washington room, wonderful view. I look forward to trying other rooms in the future.

This was our first stay at the Inn and it will not be the last. The Lodge was neatly decorated and warm. Our suite in the Carriage house was perfect. The hospitality of Peter and Sandy was like visiting old friends. The breakfast was nothing like we have had before. We will be back soon!

We heard about the Inn on a search for places to stay near my family, in Fryeburg. The description and free homemade breakfast sounded enticing. We were so much more pleasantly surprised than we ever expected. From the moment we met Peter and Sandy, we completely changed our plans for going out to dinner to staying in and enjoying their fabulous down-home hospitality! The pub and dining was second to none! The food was fresher than anything I could ever make in my own home. Cold beer and wine selections were very eclectic. The rooms are beautiful and extremely comfortable. We had the Naples room with it's own entrance to the outdoors. Hot cup of coffee and stepping out into the crisp Maine air in the morning was spectacular. Great views of the snow-capped mountains. Cooked to order breakfast at the time of your choosing works great when you have plans for the next morning. Sandy is a fabulous chef with attention to every detail. The were very accommodating to our 7 year old daughter, which is so very much appreciated. We will certainly be back to The Old Saco Inn! Can't think of any place better to stay in the area!

We stayed during the winter and would love to come back during the summer. The innkeepers are very accommodating. The place is very comfortable and the meals are fantastic. We traveled with our two teenage sons and they enjoyed the place too!
