“Wonderful Resturant and Family”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2013

I love this lobster shack and the family that runs it. Not only is the food amazing but the family is a delight. Visitors are treated like friends, the resturant walls is full of customer comments from all over the world. Sadly the resturant will be closing because the family will be moving to the main land. Hopefully they open another resturant because I'll definetly be their on my next cruising trip.

“A precious facility”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2013

The warmth and charm of the owners is outstanding. The husband catches the lobsters and crab and Tammy cooks them to perfection and at a price unequallled. Endless accolades scribbled on the walls attest to the number of friends created by outstanding service

“Heaps of lobster at the head of the harbor”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2013

A completely unassuming place with picnic tables outside, a couple tables inside. We had the lobster salad which was at least one whole lobster, without all the fuss. Proprietors Tammy and Jay are charming and down to earth. The small ice cream I had to divide into three bowls. At high tide you can ride your dinghy all the way to the head of the harbor and at low tide it is a pleasant 10 minute walk along the harbor.

“The best lobster in Maine”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2013

Located 10 miles from the Maine coast, Long Island and the village of Frenchboro can only be reached by private boat or ferry service from Bass Harbor. Once there you will find it well worth the trip. The Offshore Store offers absolutely the best lobster accompanied by steamers, shrimp, crab, and if you really want- hamburgers and hot dogs! They will also cook the lobster and deliver to boats in the harbor- along with terrific homemade pastries. BYOB
Each evening there is a fire pit where boaters and visitors can swap 'lies'- stories from around the world as Frenchboro attracts cruisers from far afield.
Tammy and Jay are the best hosts you can imagine and cordially invite all to participate in the camaraderie.
A must stop- they are located at the head of the harbor, across from the town dock.

“Excellent food, great value, warm hosts”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 20, 2013

My favorite is a lobster salad and a brownie sundae. But beyond the great food it is easy to spend a couple of hours sitting by the fire pit listening to the the stories of fellow diners from all over the world. Good times, pleasant company.
