“Great barbecue in a seafood town!”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

Our little group had stuffed ourselves with lobster for days so we were looking for a change. Somehow we converged on going for barbecue. Our expectations were low but we were very pleasantly surprised. Buck's was packed on a Thursday night but the hostess did a great job in finding us a table in a few minutes. The pulled pork was delicious and the St. Louis style ribs were excellent. The side of cooked greens was as good as any I've had in the south.

“We couldn't resist”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

We had just landed in Maine for our week of vacation. As we left Portland to head up to Bass Harbor we were starving since we had been up since about 4:30a.m. and wanted a good lunch. I have rule on vacation and I recommend you adopt the same. We don't eat at chain restaurants that we can get at home. As we were headed on our way we stumbled upon Buck's Naked BBQ and couldn't resist snapping a picture and hoping for a good meal.
We were not disappointed. The portion sizes were good and the food was yummy. They had excellent customer service and this is when I realized that Maine was different from many places I traveled. The people were genuine. They were being friendly because that was their nature. It was refreshing. We had good food, got some fun pictures and were treated very well. Enjoy!

“nothing spectacular”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

This restaurant appears to be very popular. It was packed. The service was very good but the food was not very good. The prices were in my opinion very high for the quality of food. I will definately go elsewhere at my next visit.

“BBQ Gone Wild”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

Stopped by Buck's Naked BBQ for the first time on Friday for lunch on our way to L.L. Bean. We were plesently supprised by the food. The homemade pastrami was excellent, tender and flavorfull. My son had the catfish and sweet potato french fries. The sweet potato fries were addictive and we ate every last one. The four different BBQ sauces on the table are a nice touch and my son could not get enough of the Blueberry Haze BBQ sauce. I have to agree with some of the other reviewers, It does get loud in there with kids running around the play area. It did not bother us and we stilled enjoyed our lunch. Lunch for 2 with Iced Tea was around $27.

“Good BBQ!”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

We went to Buck's Naked BBQ in Freeport while up there shopping. The ambience is really fun with lots of funky things to look at and even a Juke Joint downstairs. The wait time for a table was short, our waiter very friendly and he even offered suggestions on what we might like. The food came out pretty promptly considering how busy it was, a Saturday night in the summer with tons of tourists. The portions were just right, the selection of side very nice and the food terrific. We all loved the ribs! They offer a variety of sauces to try on the table. Our waiter checked back several times so our glasses were never empty. The price was very fair for what we got. The only draw back is it is a little noisy and the play area gets a little nuts but if you go into it knowing this then it shouldn't be a problem.
