“One of the Best Restaurants in Freeport”
Reviewed June 14, 2014

We had a great dinner at Tuscan Brick Oven Bistro in Freeport. They have been open for about a year and this was our first time there. We didn't have a reservation so we grabbed the last remaining high table in the bar area. Highly recommend you get reservations if you want a table in the main dining room for dinner. We are 'locals' and saw many people we know there, so the restaurant is getting strong local and tourist traffic.

They atmosphere is great. They did a great job renovating the space. Big windows for lots of natural light, open kitchen and a very elegant but relaxed interior. Service was prompt and attentive even and kept up well on a busy Friday evening.

We had a lobster Risotto and one of their Brick Oven pizzas off the specials menu. Both were excellent. The Summer Berry Cheescake and the Caramelized Hazelnut Ganache Tart finished off an excellent meal. I am not a food expert so I can't describe in detail the careful preparation of each dish, but I know when something is good and well made and when it is not. This was obviously well done and delicious.

It was not crazy expensive either. With a couple of glasses of wine our bill came to $79. Well worth the evening. Highly recommended!

“Nice atmosphere”
Reviewed June 10, 2014 via mobile

We ate here with a party of 6 and had a nice meal. Everyone enjoyed their food, but I had a few tastes that just seemed very odd. The fig/Procuitto appetizer comes with a marscapone-bleu cheese. The bleu cheese was so sharp and overpowering I couldn't taste anything else on the plate.
For an entree, I ordered Chicken Under A Brick. It was excellent, but really belongs on a Fall/Winter menu. The flavors scream fall.....except for the Italian salsa verde that tops the chicken. In no way, shape or form does this sauce belong on top of that chicken. It was like Sesame Street's "One of these things is not like the other" - right there on my plate. For dessert I had the tahitian vanilla cheesecake. It was good cheesecake, but I felt the "Tahitian" was there just so they could charge an extra dollar. I should have gone with the old Tiramisu standby, which was a hit with 1/3 of our party. The Tuscan Brick Oven Bistro is ultimately a "Been There, Done That" for me.

“Amazing!”
Reviewed June 9, 2014

Husband & I came here last Friday night and had the Best Experience! First off - if you're even Thinking about dining here, get a reservation - it is that popular! And with good reason. Everything we had, from appetizer, drinks, dinner & dessert, was truly amazing! Some of the previous reviews talk about how expensive it is....well...this isn't MickieD's, folks. For the quality of the food, the drinks & atmosphere , it's actually pretty reasonable. I'd highly recommend coming here - can't wait to return!

“Very popular”

Clearly the busiest restaurant in Freeport. Food was good, but not inspired. We had to wait half an hour for a table, so a reservation is a good idea.

“Amazing atmosphere and top-notch food!”
Reviewed June 3, 2014 via mobile

Went for lunch with a friend. The atmosphere is great there, someone really knew what they were doing with the decor and lighting. It's relaxing but still sophisticated. The type of place you don't mind hanging out in for hours. The food was really good as well. It was a bit pricey, but so is everything in Freeport. All in all, well worth a visit. Can't wait to go back!
