My husband and I stayed 2 nights at the Kendall Tavern Inn celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Inn is lovely, picturesque in fact. The rooms and common areas are well appointed. Coffee, tea and a pastry awaited us at most times. The breakfasts Nancy makes are really wonderful, we ate every bite both days. Mark is a real joy to talk with and both he and Nancy are very friendly, warm and approachable which makes a stay at an inn like this so much more enjoyable. The Inn itself is in walking distance to L.L. Bean and all the lovely little shops Freeport has to offer. There really is nothing remotely negative to say about this place. I would (and will) absolutely stay here again. We loved it!

Thanks for the review and thanks again for letting us take your picture and post it on FB. We still have guests who remark on the coincidence of having 2 couples celebrating their 11th anniversary staying on the same weekend. Glad that you enjoyed your stay - maybe we will see you again for another anniversary!

Mark greeted my partner and I and checked us right in. We stayed in room 1, which was clean and quiet. Nancy's cooking was tasty and well presented. Something different every morning. In the afternoon, they served hot cookies. The inn is well within walking distance to the Freeport shops. Overall, Mark and Nancy made us feel right at home. We will definitely be back.

Cozy rooms, delicious gourmet breakfast, and the warm hospitality of innkeepers Nancy and Mark make this B and B a standout. During our visit complementary artesian Olive oils were featured in our room. We even discovered a "new" poet, Lucy Ferren, fraternal grandmother of Nancy. A poetic and tranquil spirit prevails.

Thanks for the wonderful review - sorry it took us a while to respond. We've had a very busy summer and are just now figuring out how all the online systems work. Thanks for connecting us again with Lucy's poetry, it had been a while and it was great to revisit. Hope to see you again soon!

My fiance and I stayed here overnight about two weeks ago. Mark and Nancy were fantastic hosts, the room we stayed in (#4) was very nice, and we were extremely pleased with our stay. Nancy's cooking was top notch, and Mark's wit and engaging personality really made us feel like we'd made some friends in Maine. We had mentioned our plan to permanently relocate to Maine, and Mark was very helpful in providing guidance to us. We were sad to only be able to stay for the one night, but will certainly make the Kendall Tavern our Mid Coast area "go-to" and top suggestion for friends/family. The experience really was a nice capstone for our latest trip!

Tim greeted us at the door with his prospective new owner. Both were very helpful to a first-timer and we had a choice of rooms. The room was clean and quiet (very important to me). The main physical attraction of the Kendall is the historical context which was sustained without it becoming annoying. We felt right at home and were able to shop in Freeport without having to find a parking spot. Breakfast was well presented and tasty with very enjoyable company form the owners and we were the only guests

Room Tip: We opted for a second floor room but the third floor suite would be great for the extra space.
